Reviews
"As you read my review please keep in mind why a complex that supposedly promote luxury and community building has a 3 star ⭐️ review on Google, to me it screams lots of bad residential experiences. I usually refrain from writing negative reviews for any business, but I feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction with the current management at Trio @ Southbridge. Unfortunately, they exhibit highly discriminatory and biased behavior, showing a complete lack of respect for residents. As loyal residents for the past six months with no prior issues, we were shocked when our vehicles were towed on January 22nd, 2024, after talking to a management rep on Saturday (1/20/24) with the understanding of her getting back to my husband on Monday. After the cars were towed, I visited their leasing office to address the situation and register my husband's license plate. However, the manager not only refused assistance but also asked us to leave the office. When we declined and requested they involve the police, they did so. Upon the police's arrival, they correctly identified the matter as a civil one and suggested we resolve it ourselves. In an attempt to escalate the issue, we contacted their senior manager, who promised to call us back but failed to do so. Later that evening, we received two Notices of Lease/Handbook Infraction, accusing us of disturbance and illegal activities. It seems they are using their authority to tarnish our record, potentially explaining why the apartments are empty. I feel compelled to caution others: Trio @ Southbridge is not a safe place and nothing about its management style exemplifies a community as they promote it to be. Exercise caution when considering this community."
"Finally dropping from 3 to 1 star: Greedy establishment that tries to take majority of security deposit after move out even though they commented the place looked good during final walkthrough. Itemized list said “Excessive cleaning fee and carpet cleaning fee” but no explanation other than typical wear and tear. Speaking with a lawyer now on filing a small claims lawsuit after not receiving communication or further reasonings for the itemized list. Management has changed so any 5 star reviews regarding Connie is no longer applicable. Also, they never replaced the moving carts that were stolen a year ago. New property manager, Terry, is still learning the protocols and procedures. During our final walk-through, we asked multiple times if there was anything else we needed to do, but was told that things looked great overall and no further steps were needed. It wasn't until after we were fully moved out that they let us know they will charge us for standard cleaning and for routine carpet cleaning. We had vacuumed and cleaned the apartment. Both my partners and I had never had our security deposit taken before as we are fairly tidy people. However, we were shocked to be charged $320 (so far) out of our $500 deposit. They said they are still looking to see if there's anything else to add to the charges. There were no damages to anything and it was their standard cleaning. It is illegal in the state of Minnesota to be charged for routine carpet cleaning, so we are disputing this. Many people moved out the same weekend as us so it looks like management is trying to take most of the security deposits. Overall, it felt very disingenuous to reassure us that things looked great but then take majority of our security deposit. Edit after 10 months: Overall, I still enjoyed my stay. My only complaint for moving 5 to 3 star is cleanliness. We discovered dog poop sitting indoors near our mail boxes a few times and also the elevators constantly reek of sweat in the summer. So the management and apt itself is still nice, but there are some trashy residents. Previous Review: My partner and I have just moved to Trio @ Southbridge. Communication The communication from management have been amazing. They were always quick in responding to our many questions and inquiries Cleanliness No complaints here! Amenities There’s a pool, a grill, gym, coffee lounge and other areas to relax. We have not tried everything yet, but it’s been nice! Only small complaint is it seems someone has stolen all the moving tools so moving in was a bit rougher. Management did say they are looking to order more for future residents. Areas outside of Apartment There’s a lot of restaurants nearby, grocery stores, and a Walmart that made our move very easy. There’s also a movie theater within 5 mins walking distance that have been lovely. Overall, it’s only been a brief time but we have been happy with our stay and would recommend."
"Management is awful. Only want to enforce certain rules to certain residents. Smells like weed 24/7. No communication from management. Had issues with our lease and all they do is argue and don’t help you in the slightest. You make a complaint about neighbor noise (kids pounding on walls, stomping at 1030 pm (after quiet hours, per the lease they don’t enforce) and you get told to call the cops because “there is nothing they can do” and they are incapable of sending a friendly email to anyone. Hardly “luxurious” - if that means dog poop in the entryway, half the lights flickering on the main building, getting yelled at by cleaning staff for throwing garbage away in an outside garbage because it attracts bees, etc. This place has gone so down hill and we do not enjoy it here."
"Not happy over here. I feel more in an hotel than at an apartment. The community is small and friendly, but what I am paying for doesn't add up to what they offer. The lighting sucks, toilets get clogged easily, the water from the fridge is weird, and it overall just gives off a stay in hotel. I think that is what Shakopee provides for a lot of their "apartments". The building is pretty closed off, and overall lacking. Just not worth it unless you need to find a place to stay in this town. I think city living, or nearby suburbs would be better..."
"I personally think there are way better options. The apartment is very overpriced for the small amount of amenities they offer. I regret not moving into Minneapolis where prices can be better and they have tons of amenities in walking distance to choose from. I think this is a safe and chill community with nice neighbors but that can be offered so many other places. The apartments seem very closed off and not much community bondness. Living here I don't feel "at home" I feel in a shell. This place is extremely overpriced. PERIOD."
