"The lady is very harassing through emails and texts. She will holler at you like you're a child, threaten to evict you, accuse you of everything she can think of. She has accused me of smelling up her building with marijuana, when it was finally discovered it was coming from other tenants. Very controlling lady, very harassing, once she develops an issue with you she will keep on looking for something to accuse you of. It's best to rent from another company or you will be harassed via emails and texts messages."
"For the most part they weren't too much of an issue, as long as you don't expect much to get fixed. Most maintenance requests went unanswered for months if they were answered at all (leaky garden hose faucet, non-working doorbell, part of the soffit getting ripped off in a storm, etc), but the maintenance guys were great once they were told about the issues. Our fence was hit in a car crash and wasn't fixed in the 8 months we rented with them after it happened. When part of our soffit was ripped off in a storm, they marked it as "completed" after a couple months despite there still being a hole open into the attic, and nobody coming by to fix it. They also tried to charge us for an air conditioner replacement - when the part they claimed was "damaged" wasn't the issue, they still wanted us to pay for it. They also had no clue that we were paying their monthly pet rent despite it being in the online portal, so keep an eye on your payments. All in all they were fine, as long as you sit still and don't touch anything."
"My roommate and I rented a three bedroom apartment from them. We almost lost a lot of money because we were unknowingly paying for the electric/gas heat for the house’s shared spaces and a garage next to the house that was being rented by someone else. After asking if we were paying for more than just our unit, one of the landlords avoided contact about the matter. The most we heard was they were waiting on a bid from the electrician, and we checked in several times throughout the rest of the lease. There was nothing in the lease explaining shared spaces being included in electrical, and we were never informed we’d be paying for this. It wasn’t until we talked to the energy company, who mentioned the potential legality issues, that we even realized, and this was months after initial contact about the matter, after our lease was over. We did get reimbursed for what we hope is most of the money that we were overcharged for, but we had to push for it, and the fact of the matter is, if we had not checked in with the energy company at the end of the lease, we would have never known, as EG & Co. avoided properly addressing it. It also took nine months to complete simple maintenance projects. At one point the basement flooded with dirty toilet waste and it didn’t get cleaned up for over two weeks. I write this review to hopefully save someone else a headache, in case they try to pull this on someone else."
"I rented a three bed unit from this property company for 1 lease term, during this time we were accused of smoking pot for months harassed in emails and texts, for management to later discover it was in fact other tenants. They even threatened us with a police raid on our apt even tho we were cooperative and even offered entry into the apt. We were harassed at the end of our lease to move out a week early because they wanted to rent to other tenants. When we asked about receiving partial rent prorated and paid back if we were to vacate early we were told no. So we chose to stay the duration of the last month. We were met with demands for early check out on move out day because the management had a “softball tournament” that day even tho our signed lease stated we had until noon we were told no later than 10am. Because we did not leave early for others to move in we were grossly overcharged out of our deposit as punishment and told that we cost them the renting of said unit due to the next tenants not being able to move in early. Management took our ENTIRE $800 deposit and charged $206.25 for 8.25 hours worth of cleaning on an apt that had already been professionally carpet cleaned as well as the cleaning we did prior to check out. We also were told we could only use the carpet cleaner they prefer which was considerably more than I have paid in the past. Then I Called to 3 separate professional local cleaners to get quotes on the cleaning cost and I was told that even in very dirty conditions this was double what I should have been charged. THREE SEPARATE professional and reputable businesses told me this information. We were told during our check out walk through that the unit looked “great” but may need a couple paint touch ups. Then charged $525 for a COMPLETE repaint. When we moved in there were large spots in every room that had been spackled but never painted over as well as holes throughout the unit. (Which we did not complain about but in retrospect should have since we ended up paying for a complete repaint of the unit) If you’re considering renting here be aware that the management will run your deposit dry as well as the multiple instances of harassment and threats we received throughout the duration of our lease. In total our move out cost us $1,000. We are not dirty people by any definition of the word, and I would recommend NOT renting from this property company at ANY of their locations."
"Renting from EG Properties was amazing! My family and I moved out of town for a year and when we decided to move back, Emily was the first person I called. She scheduled a few places that she thought would fit our family and we couldn't have been happier with her choices. Maintenance was completed in a timely manner when needed and they were always friendly. When we finally bought our house, I couldn't have asked for a smoother check out. EG Properties will always be the first place I recommend!"
