"My therapist left CARE 'due to no decision of her own' and CARE was supposed to reach out to me with new therapist recommendations. This was a few weeks ago and still nothing. You care more about my unpaid $7.80 bill than you do helping patients it seems."
"I had two bad experiences with CARE Counseling. I think my most recent experience could have been good, but I was recommended to LynLake by a few friends and decided to go there instead. My counselor last summer sucked and he decided to gatekeep my diagnosis, which I think is gross. He was also just annoying and counseling felt like another stressor. I skipped an appointment after a particularly stressful day at work and was charged an astronomical fee. My counselor BEFORE that was also terrible. She basically encouraged me to stay in an emotionally abusive relationship. Not great. I had a new counselor who had potential, but CARE decided that, since I had an unpaid balance from Captain Gatekeeper, that they would cancel my appointment DURING my appointment. I had a particularly bad week that week, so it was just the icing on the cake. Since LynLake seems more person-centered anyhow, I'm just switching to them. I'm just sick of CARE and their 22-year-old child counselors and being charged full price for basically Walmart level counseling. I would recommend you go elsewhere if you actually want to make progress. Edit: I'm giving it two stars since my new counselor could have been good. But I just don't even know why I was dumb enough to give CARE another chance when we live in a giant metro area with lots of options."
"Need significant help with admin team. Spent time reviewing bios and selecting a therapist and scheduled appointment. Got a text notification they changed my provider and chose a random therapist who had time available without even looking at my preferences or needs. Have called three times back and left messages asking for help to get the right provider and appointment scheduled and they haven’t returned calls or bothered to help. Suggest new patients go elsewhere for therapy if this is the way they handle intake."
"I really enjoyed my therapist Kirsten. I highly recommend her! The only reason I stopped was due to finances (wasn't covered well by my insurance and trying to save money to pay more debt off) and just trying to create more balance in my life. But I do feel if I needed to go back, that I would feel comfortable reaching out and scheduling an appointment with her. The app and telehealth changed once when I was going and I thought the transition went smoothly. If you're not familiar with telehealth, it may be more challenging. My only cons were similar to what others said; you leave a lot of messages trying to get a hold of the office. I also didn't see any breakdowns of the bills I was paying so some weeks were more than others and I wasn't sure why. Overall I would highly recommend if your insurance covers it!"
"I cannot recommend. And looking at reviews, it appears the only people recommending are employed by Care. Yes, the facility itself was nice, but it is impossible to speak to a human when calling Care, which made every part of being a patient nearly impossible. You always have to leave a message for one department or another and so many services are outsourced to other parties (hence leaving messages). Scheduling, asking questions, billing, everything involved leaving a message with (what appeared to be a call center) and then receiving one or more calls back from people that seem to be lacking knowledge on the topic or any information from said message. Having received mental health care for years from a variety of providers, this is completely contradictory to the type of service patients need and was frustrating (at a minimum). Additionally, the “style” at Care is to completely run everything for their therapists, which made working with our therapist more difficult than it needed to be since the therapist had to basically “run” everything through Care. I guess the silver lining is it’s easy to improve from the current level of service because it’s so low. I would research all options before choosing Care (based on my experience with them). I don’t leave reviews often and don’t enjoy leaving such a negative review, but mental health care should not have as many barriers as Care does and it was truly a huge disappointment."
