"I love going to stark they have helped me for years , I love my doctor and the kind staff"
"Dr.Lewis is unprofessional and doesn't listen to patients symptoms. She's had me on 3 mood stabilizers that made me depressed and sucidal. I ended up being hospitalized for five days and they too me off all of them saying I was over medicated. I can't get my perception filled because she hasn't updated my new med list. I've been diagnosed with ADHD since I was three and she won't medicate me for it. I was also told she prescribes medical marijuana which is not true. I am in the process of changing providers. I would give the clinic zero stars if I could"
"Avoid Dr. Lewis at all costs!! I went to her for help, and she hung up the telehealth visit while I was clearly distressed and asking questions. She is extremely unpersonable and unprofessional. She was 30 minutes late to the 40 minute appointment. She was very guarded and silent apart from official questions. I'm used to the mental health system and the way they ask questions, but her questions were scattered but pointed, like she had decided I was drug seeking before I opened my mouth, and all questions were to support that conclusion. I have suspected autism (of which she was aware), and open-ended questions make me really anxious. If I don't know WHY a question is being asked, I can't give a succinct answer; I might start answering with something irrelevant. Dr. Lewis asks open-ended questions that aren't what she's actually asking. That is hard to pick up on with autism. She uses your answers to read between the lines (read : decides anyone with anxiety is drug-seeking.) instead of having a candid conversation about her concerns. As is common with ASD, I'm not good at nonverbal communication, so honest verbal communication is extremely important to me. It's extremely concerning that a psychiatrist doesn't know how to speak to someone with autism. So I was really anxious at this point in my appointment and becoming so upset I couldn't advocate for myself. We had been talking for 10 minutes. I tried to get my mental health case manager on the phone, but Dr. Lewis told me our time was up and to make another appointment. I was crying because I was confused and scared and this appointment was important. I have been skirting the edge of hospitalization to make it to this appointment. My case manager and I had worked really hard to make sure I had a psychiatrist appointment so I could get on some meds and stay out of the hospital. I told Dr. Lewis this, and that I wasn't done, we were still talking about medications and I was still asking questions about medications. She repeated that the appointment was over and to make another one. I asked why there wasn't enough time for us to finish the appointment. She said "It's a 40 minute appointment ". I said "But you just got here, we've only been talking 10 minutes!" She told me she had been reviewing my records since the appointment started. I told her that was prep for the appointment, not time she'd spent with me, so I asked why did her prep get taken out of my appointment? As mentioned, there is highly suspected autism and I literally did not (and still don't) understand why her prep counted as my appointment. All I wanted was that question answered. She just repeated "The appointment is over, make another appointment." And I asked again why there wasn't enough time for us to have the appointment and why her prep counted as my appointment. "The appointment is over, make another appointment" was all Dr. Lewis would say, despite my clear distress and confusion. All I wanted was to have my appointment, and when I couldn't, I wanted to know why. These are not unreasonable requests, especially for someone who needed the appointment to prevent psychiatric hospitalization. So when she just kept repeating the same brick wall answer, I asked her who supervisor was, or if there was someone I could speak to about my grievance. She said "I'm the Medical Director, so you'd be talking to me". 1. Everyone has a boss 2. I had a legal right to ask for the official information to file a complaint , which she intentionally withheld. That's not legal At this point, nothing has been prescribed, not even refills on my trazodone for sleep, because she didn't even let me finish the appointment and ask! She's refusing to answer questions, I'm now sobbing, begging her for help because I can't hold out for another appointment. I ask her to please just let me finish the appointment....and she rolls her eyes & hangs up on me. ...COPE can verify, I was nearly hospitalized as a direct result of that. Dr. Lewis is unprofessional and cold-hearted."
"Originally, I scheduled an appointment here because it was the only place I could be seen within a few weeks. I worked with Dr. Lewis for over a year on my medication management. She hasn’t been helpful whatsoever. After a year has passed, none of my issues have been fixed. I have minor depression and anxiety that makes life difficult to manage sometimes. I have tried numerous different medications and only one of them worked for my depression, it did nothing for my anxiety. I had taken Effexor for about 8 months give or take and like I said it worked a little bit. Enough to justify taking it everyday. I recently decided that I didn’t want to take this for the rest of my life considering maybe their might be healthier alternatives. I’ve just ended my taper with Effexor and the withdrawal symptoms are horrible. I was under the impression from Dr. Lewis that there would be no withdrawal symptoms. She was wrong yet again. To conclude, I don’t recommend that anyone work with Dr. Lewis. Maybe other people have had better results than me. I’m not sure. Based on my experience I wouldn’t recommend her. The nurse and the front desk lady were really nice though."
