"This community is such a convenient location for us. Anna in the office is so fun and extremely helpful. She made our move in absolutely seamless. The remodeled homes are beautiful!"
"To begin with, there was nothing wrong before the new property owners and managers took over. It was a good and affordable place to live, especially for many college students and families in the area. Soon after the new management and owners took over, problems began to arise. For one, my family kept getting notes that we had unpaid rent. It became apparent that they were doing this to a lot of people, especially a lot of the Hispanics and minorities in the neighborhood. I notice this since every time I went to the office to dispute the unpaid rent with receipts dating back to when we first moved here four years ago, it was always the same group of people. Either they're terrible at managing payments or this was a pretty disgusting tactic to get people to move out. I don't know and it could have been either. As soon as I saw people move out because they couldn't provide evidence that they had paid rent. Those units were promptly renovated, and put back on the market for sale, or for double the rent they use to be. Its clear from what Iv seen is that they really want to kick everyone out, renovate the units, and make a profit rather than provide a good place to live. After our family fought the unpaid notices, we also notice that their new maintenance team was pretty lazy or not responsive. We had to wait about a week to have our stove tops replaced since they didn't work anymore. When they did, they replaced them with used, disgusting ones they claimed were new. These stove tops promptly failed again and we had to buy our own brand new ones cause we knew the same thing was gonna happen. They also replaced all the toilets with weaker ones that require you to flush twice or else you risk backing up the whole toilet. Even though they're charging crazy amount for rents in some of these renovated properties, trash still ends up on peoples lawns and cars cause again, their maintenance team is lazy and don't wanna pick up some trash. They have also towed peoples vehicles for just being parked in the street. Ultimately, we got evicted and was given 60 days along with the other people on my street for the simple reason that they want to renovate these propertied. Again most of these people were low income families, elderly, and people that were there trying to get by with the awful state of the economy, only to get kicked out cause the owners only really care about making money, even if it means ruining some lives. Luckily we managed to find a place to live, but I know some other people that are still struggling to find an affordable place and stressing out as the eviction date is coming up. If you do decide to live here for whatever reason, just remember that these people don't really care about you, only if you have rent money, and for some reason rent keeps going up. They'll find some way to get you out of there, even if it means playing dumb by saying they lost your rent money for your unit your already overpaying for. Just to put some makeup on it, and rent it to some other person with deeper pockets."
"This property is in a great location for me. They have 24 hour maintenance which is great in case you need something. I don't have to deal with lawn care because that is also taken care of. The office staff seemed very nice. My place had new appliances and was very clean. Feels like a safe area."
"One star is being generous! These people are awful! We had broken windows that never got fixed! Black mold under our sink and they told us all they would do is paint killz over it! They are kicking everyone out on the street without any care! They can't even pay their own bills and the mowing company stopped coming! They gave us a 60 day notice and are expecting us to still pay them! We had to scramble to find a place to live and needed that money to pay for deposits! We are talking to our lawyer! DO NOT RENT FROM THE LIFE PROPERTIES!!"
"Highly unprofessional since the switch of management. Ive been a tenant for 5 years. It was there new system that did not let me pay online. I had a money order dated for rent payment on time but they don't have a drop box over the weekend. So they charged $100 late fee no exceptions. On top of that they do not train their administration management team well at all. After speaking on the phone with someone about getting prorated Rent since we are moving (finally) another person in office told me opposite and basically screwed us out of money for two weeks after paying over 1500 dollar deposit at a new home. Also we had a roof leak that didn't get fixed for about six months after calling numerous times about our ceilings dripping floor in our kitchen and garage and I'm pretty sure we have had mold in our ceilings that they have ignored while we have lived here and they wouldn't allow us to sign another lease while they are renovating and were kicking us out instead. Mind you we have never had a single issue as tenants to get kicked out. I would never ever in a thousand years tell anybody to be a tenant under The Life Properties. I promise you can find much better."
