"Update: This is still the worst doctoring experience we've ever had. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We've had bad experiences with other doctors before, but this tops it. Everyone seems to give Dr. Abassi great reviews, but my wife and I did not get that Abassi. Wife has extreme pain in her back and was referred to Abassi. 3 hour drive. First appointment lasts not even 15 minutes, during which he says a Syrinx (wife has 2) is nothing to worry about it. Other doctors (including a previous neurosurgeon) have told us otherwise both before and after seeing him. He recommended a discogram to check disc health. We had to convince him to order a brain MRI to check for a Chiari malformation (a cause of syringomyelia). As we were leaving, we find out from the receptionist that my wife was supposed to be getting spine injections right away. No consultation or any mention to us about it by Abassi. We do it anyways. Fast forward to trip #2 for the discogram. He flat-out refused to talk to us about other options besides a discogram and about the brain MRI. A discogram is an extremely painful procedure already, but he made it 500x worse. He was complaining about terrible imaging but he went in anyways and evidently hit a nerve or something because my wife said it instantly felt like her left leg had its skin torn off and then dipped in fire. She asked him to stop. He yanked the needle out, walked out, and that is the last we have seen or heard from him despite many attempts. EXTREMELY unprofessional. Wife was bawling when she came out to the lobby. The pain from the discogram did not fully go away, but the staff said she moved during the procedure so it was her fault. We believe otherwise. They wanted to schedule another one, but we decided to seek another neurosurgeon. That neurosurgeon found that my wife's symptoms didn't even point to a discogram. If you want absolute incompetence, unprofessionalism, and rude staff (except for Jason, he was cool), Tristate is for you. If you want actual care, it is worth driving the extra distance to see someone else."
"doctors do not listen when you are explaining your situation. they cant record the correct location of your pain. do not listen to what you are capable of doing. give out work release notes that you are not capable of doing. let toddlers play with the phones (yes, one just answered when i tried to call them right now). DO NOT TRUST THEM!"
"This company clearly does not care about their customers or helping them. I was billed insurance prices for procedures I didn’t need and products that cost thousands of dollars that were supposed to help they did not. I had clarified payment with my insurance company but then my insurance company decided not to pay because my wife left her job after we had our first baby. I asked them to let me pay the uninsured cost they refused."
"I went to Dr. Abbasi first in 2018 to get some of my broken parts fixed. I had a cardiac arrest before we got to any of it. After i got my feet back under me a year later we fixed my si joint. In 2020 he fused my neck. This year we fixed my lower back. Did everything go perfect ? Heck no, and i caused some of it, but if you want to get were your going you have to put up with a few bumps in the road. Thanks Dr. Abbasi and staff.. You guys gave me a chance when nobody would.."
"Stopped in to see Dr. Abbasi about my low back pain. He was very helpful and laid out all the different options, with surgery being the last resort. The nursing staff was friendly and courteous. Would refer family members."
