"Been having momentary tingling in my left arm woke up with a more severe tinging. Having lost a wife that didn't know or respond to possible signs of a heart attack and presently married to a woman that lost her husband for the same reason I decided to seek local medical services. Since I was here on business and unfamiliar with local Hospitals I decided on Avera as I had driven by a number of their facilities I am impressed with their professionalism Within minutes after crossing the threshold I was in a exam room with several staff hooking me to various body function monitors. Grateful for their professionalism and concern. Fortunately I was not suffering a cardiac event as all the tests indicated such. I was advised to visit my family doctor when I returned home."

"Wouldn’t recommend, they were rude when I said my 4 year old has never and will not wear a mask. She is under the age of 5. My mother in law and I had the masks on as they requested. Instead of being professional about it the receptionist called a nurse over she said to talk to me. The nurse told my elderly mother in law and daughter to go sit outside and wait for me under a shaded tree when it was 94 degrees out and hot!! Which did not happen because I did have my own vehicle. Still not the point, where are the people with compassion anymore? This could have been handled much differently then the route and choice words they used. Will not be returning to that facility. The other Avera facilities don’t make small children wear a mask go figure. I was told the doctors own the other facilities and have their own process than this place."

The physicians and nursing staff, anesthesiologists, lab techs, respiratory, occupational, and physical therapists and everyone else I came into contact with were all top notch. My family was appreciative of how willing they were to explain things and keep them updated. A huge thank you to everyone at Avera Heart Hospital."

The employees treat the patients and family members with respect and caring. We are so fortunate to have this facility so close. Also it is so helpful and comforting to have the Prairie Guest House available when we need it, and at such an affordable price."
