"Great spot for first-come, first serve camping on or near a beautiful lake. The accommodations are simple but present where needed, the sites are big, there are a ton of trails, beaches/easy access to the lake, it’s fairly quiet and the campground hosts were above par!! We noticed the northern lights were peaking from our site and were able to catch a spectacular show when we drive just a bit out for a clear shot north. IMO the best sites are 9 & 34, 34 is a walk in but it’s not too far and views are similar to 9. 10 is nice but one of the trails runs right through the back of the site which was very confusing for the doggo. Because this is a state forest campground, there’s no ice or firewood for sale but there are gas stations near by. Fall colors were incredible this time of year!"
"Lovely campsite. Multiple areas. Even has a handicapped accessible campground. If you're into more adventurous stuff there's hiking distance campsites"
"Needs better cleaning to the bathrooms, but a great place, people are nice and I don't live far from Ann, but in my 6 years that I lived in Zimmerman, MN Ann Lake, is a great choice."
"Very pretty, semi private primitive camp sites. Quiet time was pretty well respected. However, the place is completely covered in poison ivy!! I’d say 80% or more of the ground coverage is poison ivy. The roads to get there are awful so pray your suspension is up to par. The outhouse could use a good cleaning. You have to drive about a mile to lake access. There is also a substantial amount of dead tree branches just dangling in trees."
"I’ve been coming here for years, but haven’t been in awhile. The campsites are great and the area is perfect. However, I have never in over twenty years of camping experienced a population less respectful of “quiet time.” It’s currently 2:23 AM on a Sunday and there is a motor running, a dog barking periodically, a large group of people talking loudly and some random very loud beeping, which I finally hunted down and was able to stop when I shone my flashlight on the neighboring campsite. Apparently the campground host doesn’t make it their business to do anything about that?? It’s unbelievably rude. If the campground is going to make rules, someone should be there to enforce them."
