"Excellent customer service!! Great location. Huge inventory of wood for any creative wood projects!!"
"Really neat store that provides local milled lumber. Friendly service. They provided me a few samples so that I could test stain and didn’t charge me anything. Very nice people."
"This is a shop selling lumber cut in this area by a local tree service. This is an outlet for trees cut by them, a very commendable undertaking and one that should be encouraged and supported. Primarily, you will find rough cut dimensional lumber and large slab cuts with a lot of live edge (bark still intact). You will NOT find lumber that has been planned smooth or sized to typical dimensions—such as 1 x 4s, 2 x 4s, 2 x 12s—what you would commonly find in a lumberyard or big box hardware store. They also offer wood blanks in various native species for use in knife handles and different types of wood turning, including pen making. Since lumber is cut locally you will find those species that typically grow in this area—red oak, white oak, walnut, pecan, hickory, maple, cherry, pine and additionally less readily available "hardwoods" like hackberry, catalpa, sycamore, and Eastern red cedar. Lumber is sold using the quarter system metric for dimensioning hardwood lumber thickness—4/4, 5/4, 6/4—four quarters being one-inch and five quarters an inch and a quarter and so on. Width measurements follow the more common metric, that is 6" = 6". Woodworkers will feel like a kid in a candy store. The prices are slightly higher than what you would find at a typical hardwood seller that caters to commercial furniture and cabinet builders. The selection of wood species is also limited—no exotic woods here. The wood is also not graded so to find really clear and straight wood can be challenging and they do not have the quantity of lumber that would be available from a mill or wholesale hardwood distributor. They do excel at offering local woods with unique patterns, slabs, and natural edges suitable to rustic tops, benches, and mantels that might fit more creative applications—work done by hobby woodworkers or specialty craftsmen and designers."
"Nice selection of hard woods for every taste and budget. From planks to knife blanks, they have what you need!"
"Awesome business. Jeremy is super nice and the customer service is excellent. 200% satisfied with my first purchase. And I'm sure I will be with all others. The prices are unbeatable and the wood is locally sourced. And the quality is top notch. My local wood store sells exotic wood. Just plain old wood scales for the same price you can get a set of stabilized maple burl or whatever from urban timbers. So I made the obvious choice and decided to have all my handle scales shipped from urban timbers from now on. Check them out on Facebook to see what they have in stock. They post new stuff all the time. You won't be disappointed. Cheers!"
