Hampton Inn Brooklyn Park 9470 W Broadway, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445

"This place was a mixed bag. The shower controls don't work...either it is scalding or ice cold...no happy medium. Walls are paper thin and it does not help when someone is playing music at the fire pit for hours on end on a weeknight and you need to sleep so you can work the next day. The sound comes right into the room. (Thankfully, I called the front desk at 10pm and she was kind enough to go turn off the firepit and the music so we could get some sleep.) Sometimes the front desk answers, sometimes it doesn't. It seems like maybe the facility is run by a very large extended family as small children are all around the first floor even late at night. They are well behaved and polite, but it is not a business class environment like most Hampton Inns. The front desk staff seems to be members of the family and not at all happy to be working there (as other reviews mentioned). No greeting upon entry, no information given at check in, no offer of water or anything else during our 5 day stay. The breakfast is in the top 3 of the hamptons I have stayed at. Scrambled eggs without all the spices, onions etc, shredded cheese available for them, real whole potatoes vs some frozen potato mix and a lot of fruit available. Well done. Beds were good...I hate the soft beds most hotels have that are murder on the back...these are still firm with very good support. Unfortunately the rates are business class high, without delivering a business class experience. I am a Hilton Honors member of many years and I won't be staying there again. I will give up earning points to stay somewhere that provides a better experience the next time I have to travel there."

"Felt “home-y”. Phenomenal staff after hours, felt safe and comfortable. Staff were accommodating and very down to earth beings. Hopefully they are well-appreciated within company walls. Great area , has everything within 10mi."

"Great location, lousy sound mitigation. Comfy bed, nice to have 2 comfortable chairs. Service was okay. But sounded like our TV was on when another room had theirs on. We thought we were going to get drenched when someone took a shower. They dropped something and thought we should duck. Spacious rooms, just not sound proofed within the structure.. did not hear the hot rods, we heard outside, in our room. Also heating/Ac system could, have better controls."

"Hotel staff definitely need customer skills. I don't think they enjoy working there. Upkeep of the hotel is not thought through. Cups don't fit lids. Paper plates and cups don't come apart easily. Oatmeal vessel is not washed every day. The person in the desk says there is no sugar in the hotel. Room shower handles don't control hot water and cold water properly. And so on. Hissing sound in the room and their wake up system call doesn’t work."
