"Very old school bath house replicating the early 1900s. The prices were reasonable. The bathrooms are minimal with 30 be be but one was treated as if you were in a sanitarium to get healthy rather than a spa. Each person has their own bath server who wraps you in sheets scrubs your back with a loofa puts you into a metal steam bath, then lays and wraps you warm towels. And different sections of the area I chose not to do the sitz bath but that’s also part of it. I felt like I went back in time. The outside of the building is beautiful Everything there is very turn of the century aka 1910s.It is there very efficiently regimented as it should be for practicality and an authentic feel of the time period and It feel like immersion of the time. I added a short massage and facial which I don’t think either was done by licensed professional, but it was OK. Quite the experience . It was hard to take photos while in the process but I got a few and then found others on line to explain to my friends the vibe of the place"
"For my husband it was great he got in with a 20 min wait. However the wait for women was 2hrs and they require you to stay in their waiting room the whole time or you loose your spot. I believe a better system could be implemented. The services were nice and they care about customer service. Gives a more traditional bath house experience. Wish the pools were open they were under construction. Overall a descent place to spend a few hours on yourself."
"HIGHLY recommended for the experience alone - and get there early before the lines. The full bath + massage process is about 1.5 hours with no lines or backups. Bobby the attendant was great - 40+ years of experience. You can tip at the end - there are paper envelopes you can leave at the check-in desk. You don't need to bring a bathing suit - towels are provided. The spa is not a pristine 21st century one - but no worries.. lean into the visit..!"
"This established bath house is a flash back in time. They ladies assisting each guest were wonderful. Each respected your modesty and made your visit relaxing. It was a lovely way to spend a snowy day."
"Note my photos are from the museum on Bathhouse row because you can’t/shouldn’t take pictures in the active bath house. But they give you an idea of what the inside looks like. OMG this was such an awesome experience. You should definitely do this at least once. My locker room attendant and bath attendant were friendly and efficient. Those ladies are hustling, but took the time to answer any questions. I was impressed with how clean the place was considering how wet an environment it is. The water was not too hot - the hot towels were hot but they take their time placing them so it’s pleasant. I want to come back again and do this with my Mom. I have some back issues and can’t walk long distances or stand for too long and the bathhouse was compact enough and had stations and chairs so I didn’t even need my cane. You do have to climb in and out of the tub and there are not modern hand rails (it’s a historic building) but the sides of the tub are substantial and it’s not going anywhere. You can pass on anything that you’re not sure you can do and an attendant is available if you want to stop something early. You will be naked, but covered by a sheet in between stations, or you can wear a bathing suit if you prefer - you do you boo. Also if the towels are too hot for you take them off -it’s not like you’re wrapped up like a mummy. So come to a beautiful historic please to experience something from the past and enjoy the journey!"
