"Set an appointment a year in advance and forgot about it. Was called the day before to be reminded and was told that if I cancelled it would cost $25. I stated on the phone that my insurance had changed and asked for her to run it to make sure they were still in network. She took down my insurance information and told me that it should not be a problem since they take "all BCBS". She did not run my insurance and I proceeded with the appointment so that I would not have to pay $25 because I could not afford that. I was under the impression that it was in network since I had been told so by the front desk. Months later I find out my insurance is not going to pay the claim because Dr May is NOT in network! When I called to figure out what could be done about the payment I was told it was my responsibility to research before I came to the appointment. I tried to explain the severity of the issue and how I could not afford this. I asked for Dr May to call me back but never received a response. I would have researched myself if I had more time to do so! The problem is I requested my insurance information be ran and I was told that I didn't need to research because it was in network. Cancellation fees. Last minute reminder calls. And unhelpful front desk service. Dr May is very friendly but the trouble with the front desk is not worth it."
