"The service was good. Make sure to show up 10-15 minutes before your appointment to fill out paperwork or that time will cut into your session. The massager stopped before my actual time was up and I had a slight rash on my face afterwards from the face rest you put your face on. Not sure if I will go back or not"

"The whole experience was disappointing, but the massage was especially. The paperwork was uncomfortable because they sat with me with a tablet as I completed things such as my medical history, etc. They could have had more hospitality, it was clear someone was being trained in/new. The massage was horrible, it was more of a rub than a massage. She was in her externship and had mentioned that she's done 130 massages so far. That is something I think that either should be discounted or told to a client ahead of time. I went in for pain due to knots in my back making it so I couldn't lift my arm/shoulder. I had told her that was the reason I was there. When she asked if I was there to relax, I specifically told her "no, it is to deal with pain". I also said I would like to focus on my back and neck to remedy that pain. She suggested a full body with a focus on my back. That seemed fine to me since everything is connected, and I've had other masseuses suggest the same (and did focus on my back). She focused mainly on my arms and legs, and spent less than 5 minutes "rubbing" my back. She also wasn't all that smooth with it. When she did the glute area with the sheet over my body, her hands bounced instead of smoothly massaging. There was zero resolution for my pain. Throughout the massage, she kept mentioning the word "relax", saying things such as, "I'm so glad you came to Massage Envy to relax", which told me she didn't listen to my concerns at all. She was extremely soft handed, which is what I mean when I said she was rubbing. I assumed she would use more pressure to work out the knots in my back once she got to it, but she just did the same motions rubbing my back. Nothing seemed to focus on working out the knots. I also had realized that she never asked me where or which side the pain was on. That should have been my first indication that there was an issue. When I left, I was about in tears because I had taken time out of work to get relief from the pain, but there was zero relief. I went home and laid on tennis balls to try to work them out. I would say it was money wasted and will never go to a Massage Envy again. After the massage, I looked at reviews and see she has been mentioned in other poor review. She was personable, but definitely needs work on her trade."

"I never thought I would be a person who went to a chain for something like body work. Youness has been my massage therapist for years now. He takes special care to make sure people feel honored and comfortable. He's far and away the best massage therapist I've ever had. I take it as a good sign that the company has been able to keep such a skilled, personable therapist for as long as I've been seeing him and I'm hopeful they continue to make it livable and enjoyable for employees like him to stay!"

"This was the worst massage experience I have ever had. The therapist and the facility were disappointing, to say the least. I booked a 60min appt. Arrived 15min early and was led to a waiting room that had a TV with a strange screensaver flashing images of animals. I don’t recall if there was music playing but I could hear the staff chatting & laughing which is not a bad thing but usually once you are led to the inner waiting room it’s a quiet & serene environment. The therapist finally called me about 10min after my scheduled appt time, 5p. The actual massage didn’t start until 5:15 and then abruptly ended at 5:55. I told the masseuse at least 4 times to apply lighter pressure which they didn’t do. The entire massage was aggressive and abrupt. It started w/o lotion on my back which doesn’t feel good at all. When the masseuse abruptly ended the massage, they quickly walked out of the room. I dressed as fast as I could. The masseuse rushed me out the door and was standing at the front desk with their coat on. I wanted to mention my poor experience but was uncomfortable with the therapist checking out with I assume a manager or supervisor with their end of shift responsibilities. And at that point I just wanted to leave. The facility is also far from a relaxing environment. Way too bright and loud, the carpet clearly dirty. Thank goodness I had a gift card. I’ll never return to this clinic."
