"If you survive the drive down the mountain into this valley, it is rewarding with great beauty. Best for a 4wd, no low cars. DO NOT TAKE AN RV OR CAMPER DOWN THIS!! Good strong newer brakes only too!!! Not many places to pull over or turn back either!"
"Fantastic site with a beautiful view of the bluffs right next to the river. Came here with a group of about 25 and had plenty of space. Here's a breakdown of a couple things that is helpful for planning: TLDR; Road in is steep, but not as bad as I was expecting (much better than Whitaker point). Camp sites first come first served, there is potable water by the bathrooms. More details: First come, first served basis for camp sites. You pay right there at the site with a self-serve slip near the bathrooms. Our site was $20 each, and is intended for 6 people. Each site has a picnic table, spot to hang a lantern, and a fire pit. Lots of space still for playing games. There are flush bathrooms, no showers. The bathrooms are serviced regularly, daily when we were there. The roads weren't nearly as bad as I was expecting based on reviews. It is a dirt road, but I found the Whitaker Point trail to be way worse. The road down to camp was steep and left brakes smoking a bit afterwards, but it was relatively smooth (not broken up, giant potholes, etc). You'd still want to be careful in a low-rise vehicle though. This time of the year the water levels are pretty low, none of the river outfitters are doing floats. Park rangers said that's pretty typical for this time of the year. Someone at camp said it took them 8 hours to go from Ponca to Kyles Landing due to having to get out and push / carry their kayaks. Overall, beautiful site, well maintained, river is clear, highly recommend."
"Look... anything on the Buffalo River is great to me! This is a smaller campground. Great for tents or camper vans. This would NOT be a campground for an r.v.! The road down to camp/ river is all gravel and very steep and narrow in spots. Some areas are also rough and rocky. There is a bathroom at camp. This place will be crazy busy on weekends during peak season. I would also not take a car down this road, although I have seen them down at camp."
"This little place is quite beautiful and has plenty of hiking trails, I believe I overheard someone saying the kayaking is good when the river is up. The river that runs through is cold and refreshing, be careful walking across the rocks as they are very slick!! This area has a bunch of different sizes in waterfalls but the 2 biggest (1 being the tallest in Arkansas) are Hemmened In Hallows and Eye of the Needle. The hikes to these are not entirely easy so be careful and cautious of your surroundings. There is no electric here and the bathrooms are just bathrooms no showers. There are water hydrants in park but they are public use and nor at individual campsites."
