"I am really disappointed with my experience with Mike and Nokomis tattoo. When making my appointment, the receptionist recommended Mike for this rework tattoo. He offered me minimal consultation prior to the tattoo and did not share his vision based on the images I selected. Between what I had hoped for and the trace image, I did not receive something I was satisfied with. I respectfully communicated this after my appointment and inquired about next steps, including how the tattoo could be altered (if possible) and refund possibilities. This was received with minimal responsiveness from Mike and eventual ignoring of my reaching out. I went into the shop in person to ask about arranging a time to discuss my tattoo. Mike was in the middle of tattooing another customer but left the customer to address me. He ignored my repeated requests to meet at another time privately and continued to approach my physical space. I felt as though he was using physical intimidation to get me out of the shop and I was deeply uncomfortable."

"Firstly, let’s talk about tattoos. I’ve gone once a month for almost a year now and Mike has completed several pieces for me. He’s a tattoo artist, a legit artist, who doesn’t make excuses and does his best work every time. He’s been patient, understanding, fun and most importantly genuine, with every piece i’ve gotten from him. All of my work has been custom and he’s done some very meaningful work for me that other artists have told me no to doing. Long story short he is a damn good dude and his work is something I’m proud to wear for the rest of my life. Secondly, the team. Everyone at this shop has made me feel welcome, comfortable and excited to come back. The Monday crew of Mike, Karen and Ren are who ive spent the most time with and I have nothing but great things to say about all of them. Mike has gathered a team of talented, good hearted, hilarious and genuine tattoo artists. I am thankful for all of them and really can’t express enough how awesome they’ve been towards me. I know there’s tons of reviews on here, this is the one you should listen to. Go in, be open minded and respect their opinions, get a great tattoo for a great price and get to know the team. It’s more than just a tattoo shop, it’s a community serving eachother and the Nokomis neighborhood. And If you’re not going to go in, atleast wave to Ren through the window! "They will always charge you the max amount they quote you. I have been here a few times for tattoos. Both times I wanted very simple tattoos and they quoted me a range on what it would cost. Both times they charged me the max amount. One tattoo took less than 15 minutes of actual time being tattooed. Neither tattoo was complicated and I provided the design. The quote was a wide range, I assumed they charged by the hour like most ethical tattoo shops do. They never explain why it cost the max, they just charged me that both times. I never took a break and showed up on time and ready. I have been to dozens of different shops and this is the only one I ever felt like I was being ripped off. Also, the owner has an extreme temper and will scream at costumers. He is the furthest thing from metal."
