"First, it's truly sad, how many bad reviews Mercy of Fort Smith has. I think the Dr.s have forgotten that it is about quality of life for their patients, not just milking as much insurance as they can as quickly as they can. We are people, not just codes. It is malpractice if you think about it. NEGLIGENCE!! I personally saw Yong Ounpraseuth, APRN several months ago. While she seemed nice enough, it was obvious she was disinterested and wanted me in and out, in under 3 minutes. I have adhesions causing bowel obstructions that are extremely painful and life threatening. All she wanted to do is get a Hida scan for my gallbladder. She did not deserve to get any insurance money for that 3 minute visit. Its fraud. I had to drive a nearly 4 hour trip for an uninterested Dr who kicked me out faster than check in and vitals. No thanks. When is someone going to do something about this hospital??? We really need healthcare here. Surgeon also only wanted to talk about my gallbladder being taken out after a Hida scan and not interested in my life threatening obstruction, because all he does is gallbladder...but he talked quite a bit...The woman who did my Hida scan was above top notch BTW, it's those behind the scenes that keep this hospital going. Gastro tried to get me back in to see her but I just refused, I just can't afford to spend this much to have no real help. They just want the $$$ I do think telehealth would be best for those of us with long drives for silly short consults. Perhaps Dr.s can't always get insurance to pay for it, but for 3 minutes, that is NOT worth a charge to my insurance. If they have a procedure, that's different. I have a lot of other healthcare needs, inc. neurological and I am literally afraid to go to this hospital because of the time, gas money and energy just to be snubbed... this is why many of us in rural areas are just dying. Arkansas has some of the WORST healthcare in not just the US, but the world... that is sad, all of these Dr.s... with so much potential. If they are held accountable and given the motivation to do their jobs properly I bet they would all be amazing. Burn out? IDK the waiting room was dead... long hours perhaps? But isn't it just inhumane and should be illegal to get paid for so little actual work."
"Trying to schedule scopes has been a nightmare. I received a call to schedule and missed it, I immediately called back within a minute and I got voicemail. I kept calling and still voicemail. I call the main gastroenterology to see if they can schedule, she told me she would send a note back to have them call me by the end of the week. I told them I left a voicemail, she said snarkily well you can either continuously calling with no chance of getting through or I can send a note back. Still haven’t heard back from them. We are needing these procedures done, my husband is not doing well, I told her that, she told me to go to the ER. Been there and done that, and unfortunately we were referred to them."
"If I could, I would give Zero stars. I had an abnormal at-home fecal test. I needed a colonoscopy. My doctor sent them a referral early August. I called and called to set appt. Left messages. No response. Finally reached a live person and they said they never got it. Back and forth with this and then finally on the 18th they found it! But did I get an appt.? No! She said a doctor would need to review my referral, then they would call me to schedule my colonosocopy. Review it for what? These are pretty standard. I am still waiting for their call. Really? And these people are in charge of helping to prevent colon cancer? Do Not Go Here!"
"Been trying for a month now to get in to get stomach issues figured out and still cannot get anyone to call me when I'm available. The 2 times they've called are on days I'm at work and cannot answer the phone. Every time I've tried to call them which has been multiple times a week, goes to voice mail only. They fully disregard the best days to get ahold of you. I've never had this much trouble trying to get scheduled for anything."
"We’ve been trying to schedule a colonoscopy for my mom for a month almost. We keep getting the run around. We will have someone from our schedule team call you back and then they call you one time you miss it and they close the case out, this has happened three times! My mother is a dialysis patient with serious memory problems and they will not let her approve me to talk to them without filling paperwork out, but we can’t get even get an appointment scheduled to fill out paperwork. I’ve been taking care of my mom since 2019 this is the ONLY medical office that’s been this complicated and hard to work with! Save yourself time and a headache and go to Baptist/Fort Smith or Ozark hospital."
