Mercy Emergency Department - Fort Smith

"So I’m just gonna blatantly say it I’m a teenage girl who knows nothing I called Mercy ER because I broke my nail and I was taking them off and one got stuck and now my whole nail is coming off it’s like stuck to it and I didn’t know what to do. And on top of this, my father is out of town and I’m gonna walkable distance so before I walked over there at 3:48 in the morning, I wanted to see if they would be able to do anything when so I called. At first I got a very nice nurse or a person at the front. I guess she was very sweet. But then she passes the line to a not so friendly nurse, and the nurse was beyond rude and I think she thought I was joking but I was very serious. She basically just talked to me like I was stupid. I was sobbing on the phone to this woman btw. I then called fort smith ER (10/10 do recommend) and they were much nicer and actually helped with the situation! so yeah thank you mean nurse for nothing."

"The worst ER visit I ever had. Had to use an epi pen and then they left me in the waiting room stating they were “monitoring me on the security cameras” after using an epi pen you need to be hooked up to an EKG an monitored I could have died from coming here. Honestly go to Baptist, the best ER in the valley is baptist in Van Buren. Do not go here or send your loved ones here."

"I am making this review for my mother Amber McEntire. She has been to your ER multiple times and been admitted to be quickly released in the past 2 weeks. My mother has autoimmune diseases and connective tissue disorders that are rare and finally had to go to Mayo Clinic in Rochester to properly get diagnosed. Every time she has to visit this facility, sadly because it is covered on her insurance and it’s one of the closest hospitals she is treated horribly. No one takes her seriously, they speak to her like why is she even there, her diagnoses were even questioned, they treat her like she is a drug seeker when she has every reason to be in pain due to her medical conditions. The treatment and care she has received is sickening. She has been having issues with nonstop vomiting and nausea that no one has figured out yet. Continuously malnourished and dehydrated putting so much strain on her body. No one properly exams or runs tests on her, she had to finally go to another hospital to get adequate care and to find she had gastritis again. They also took care of her vomiting and nausea on the first try. This hospital may take fine care of you once, but then they treat you like a nuisance. DO NOT TAKE your loved ones here, because it seems like they want them to die."

"The worst care I’ve ever gotten. Kathleen Rene Decker, NP was super rude and dismissed my chest pain. She also complained about how many patients she had to see. I wouldn’t go back there if it was the only hospital on the planet. These are the dirty bedsheets I was given."

"We are from out of state, traveling to see family when i had to make an early morning trip to the ER with severe abdominal pain. Was brought back within minutes of checking in and seen fairly quickly. The staff in the emergency room were super nice and caring. They are a teaching hospital and the girl working on me was decent, clearly still learning, But everyone was great in my opinion. I think fron the time I arrived, I was seen and got an answer on what was going on within 2 hours and then Immediately transferred to the surgical wing for an emergency appendectomy. Thank you to the great staff for getting me seen and taken care of!"
