"So it definitely took a second to get reservations, so if you want a table, you probably can't just show up on Friday night without a reservation. We went for dinner and it's a nice location in the heights. The atmosphere was a little subdued to be honest, like I felt a bit like I didn't want to talk very loud because it was so quiet around us. We tried the crudo for an appetizer and it was great: fresh Hamachi, seasoned well, great presentation. We tried some pasta because we heard it was really good, so we ordered the blue crab carbonara and the bucatini amatriciana. The flavors in both were great but I preferred the blue crab carbonara, it was rich and the crab was fresh and it all went well together. But, for both dishes, the pasts was undercooked. I like al dente pasta and all but this was just undercooked. The giant slice of cheesecake for dessert was really good as well, and it's enough to feed 2 or 3 people. I'll probably go back at some point because the food is good, but the atmosphere was not quite for me."
"Had a great experience in Barnabys last night, little speak easy inside of George’s restaurant and was blown away. Every meal, desert and drink that was being delivered to tables that I saw was a what is that? I want that! I didn’t not see one item that was not eye appealing and that is a major compliment. We decided to have yellow fish appetizer & the catch of the day and George’s lasagna with the sweet potatoes for our main course and the lemon stawberry desert. Everything was so delicious with vibrant and new flavors. Definitely would love to come back just to eventually try everything on the menu. The place is a little pricey and well worth every cent. Don’t let the price let you shy away from trying this place atleast once. If you are a foodie like me. It’s worth it and you will want to go back."
"My wife and I were invited to dinner by some friends and told this place had a month wait to get in. The appetizers were good. As far as the main courses my food was cold. Overall we felt it was over hyped. Maybe will try again and give another try but wasn’t overly impressed this go around. The pistachio gelato was good though.."
"Laura was amazing …drinks are exceptional fried Brussels mind blowing and the shrimp Scampi with bread is to die for. Chicken parm is very fresh but not my favorite but the Alfredo with shrimp woah amazing and had skinny Italian cocktail Fire ended with espresso martini perfect evening will be back. Love how intimate and charming this restaurant is definitely a Jem in the heights to protect and keep"
"Reservations are key! A gorgeous place to eat and a great menu. We started with 2 appetizers, meatballs and also the shrimp. The shrimp were large and fresh and the meatballs tasted like what I would expect an Italian grandma to put in front of me - a tried and true family secret recipe! The chicken Parmesan was large and crispy with al dente cooked pasta and a touch too sweet sauce- still great! The short rib bolognese was tasty but the sauce again was a bit too sweet for me. Needed a slice of bread or two at the end of the dish to finish off the remaining sauce. The winner of the three entrees was the steak tagliata and fries. Steak cooked perfectly with fantastic seasoning and the FRIES were perfect! Ended the meal with their mascarpone cheese which was light and fluffy - we choose pecans and salted Carmel as our toppings - three of us finished it! Quinn was our waiter and he was top notch. Knowledgeable, professional and added his recommendations which we came to trust through the meal. A place to celebrate an occasion or to impress. Environment is elegant that invites great conversation. Nice Christmas music (dined the first day of December). The restroom was impressive as well. We will be back and look forward to what team at Georges continues to offer central Arkansas!"
