"Great little hole in the wall, in the back of an Indian Grocery store! Best chili paneer I’ve had in ages! The ambiance is a little austere so if you’re looking for a date night location, you may just want to pick up and bring your yummy treats home :)"
"Great hole in the wall Indian restaurant inside Asian Groceries. If you opened an encyclopedia and looked up Hole in the Wall Restaurant, I’m sure this tasty place would be the example. It is a very simple, tiny and yet truly a neat and delicious experience, especially if you want to submerge yourself into some culture by shopping and browsing the stores awesome produce and dry goods on your way to the little restaurant. The staff was truly so kind, helpful with my questions on the menu and let us know about the sauces and spice levels. It was all so delicious. I would go back for the Punugulu which is a great snack, kinda reminds me of hush puppies, but Indian style. The sauces were all so complimentary to the snacks we ordered, so much flavor and spice. The veg samosas were really flavorful, and great for the price since you get two of them, also loved both sauces. I would definitely go back for the punugulu and I look forward to trying some other unique dishes next time. A table next to us ordered the egg bonda which looked amazing- hope they have this special the next visit."
"This is a new restaurant, with new owners, within the grocery store called "Asian Groceries." I love grocery store restaurants so I was eager to try this one. The owners are very nice and explained to me that their menu is southern India cooking. It certainly was because I have never had the entre that I ordered! It was based upon a coconut gravy, I believe. I ordered the vijayawada pulav, which is chicken in rice in a very spicy "gravy." They asked if I wanted it "hot" and I said "yes" to which they responded "Are you sure?" I laughed and said yes, I'm sure, but it really was hot. The chicken had a charcoal/BBQ flavor which was subtle behind all of the sauce, or gravy (I have heard my Indian friends call it "gravy" as a general term but not "curry." Americans often call it "curry."), as well as the flavor of a Scotch Bonnet type pepper. As far as I know, the grocery store doesn't sell those kinds of peppers so I cannot explain that taste. I could taste black pepper corn and whole clove too but each bite was a slightly different flavor. At first, I thought 23 USD was a bit high but I absolutely couldn't eat it all! I had two samosas and the entree. I just thought I'd eat the rest for dinner but I couldn't eat it all then either! So it became a third meal, or snack, the next day! Therefore, 23 USD seems cheaper than fast food meals. The atmosphere is rough, but it's clean, and everybody is so nice. I would happily take friends or family here to dine!"
"Absolutely incredible food. The Mirchi bajji was delicious and the dips were perfect. I also got the szechuan fried rice and it's probably the best fried rice I've had in little rock so far. Cannot recommend enough and can't wait to go back."
"This is a small little space at the back of the best Indian grocer in Little Rock. The people are super kind, and the food was excellent. The menu is limited, but everything on it is extremely authentic, flavorful and exceptional. It’s not your traditional sit down restaurant experience, but I love that. It’s unique, and you feel like you could be in some small town in India, rather than the deep south. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates very authentic Indian food and kind service."
