"My son has SEVERE anxiety about the dentist but they were so patient with him & so kind!! They had such wonderful patience with him & I absolutely loved there communication & everything during his whole visit!! The dentist & assistants are absolutely WONDERFUL Update: we continue to come here & it is absolutely wonderful every time!!"
"Before coming to your clinic, my daughter was hysterically afraid. Usually, any trips to the dentist ended with hysteria in my daughter and other doctors refused to treat her. But your doctors managed to win my daughter's trust. Help her overcome her fear. This is incredible!!! You are excellent!!!"
"This is supposed to be dentist specifically for kids with special needs. My daughter has autism and anxiety. She was afraid of the dentist, and was asking questions and letting them slowly get the fillings done, but because she was asking questions and needing breaks the dentist kept telling her that she was “wasting his time” and that “there are 4 year olds that can do this better than you” (she was 9). They then gave her laughing gas and they must have given her too much because she started dissociating really bad. She said it looked like time froze, people where talking but not moving or people were moving and not talking. She freaked out and screamed. She asked if the medicine could have caused it and the dentist LIED and said no and tried to continue giving her gas! How scary to make her think that was happening just randomly and to also keep it going after an adverse reaction! I of course chimed in and told her yes the medicine can cause that but it will go away. Sadly after this dentist trip she developed a dissociative anxiety disorder and now she will sometimes have episodes like this without even having the gas. She refused to come back to that dentist because of how bad he made her feel she still says “he told me I was wasting his time and I was a baby”. Crazy how a special needs dentist would make a kid feel bad for having special needs! I tried to reschedule with a different dentist but they wouldn’t let me AND they said since she freaked out from the laughing gas they would have to sedate her for dental visits which would be fine but they said I could not be in the room. After that experience there is no way I’m going to leave her alone in a room with them! If she had an adverse reaction to the sedation like more anxiety, they said they would take restrain her to do the dental work! All that because the dentist was impatient! She was letting him fill the cavities but just not fast enough for his liking! No reason to give up and torture a kid and tell the parent they aren’t allowed in the room."
"My son, who was 4 at the time, had a horrible experience here. He had two cavities. I explained he was autistic and would have trouble with the process. Their only option was to strap him down to the exam chair. He was screaming and crying the entire time. They used a clamp to keep his mouth open, which fell out and was shoved back in giving him a fat lip. He was so upset he wet himself. No one was compassionate, or stopped, or changed their approach. He has since been traumatized for dentists. Don't ever bring your kid here. I was forced to go here due to dentists in the state being the absolute worst about state insurance, and I should have just pulled him out of there when they weren't listening to me."
"I just took my 40 month old daughter to this place, for a six month checkup after she chipped one of her baby teeth 8 months ago. They were excellent then. They proved to be excellent this time. With showing children their tools and explaining it and getting any 3 1/2 year old to sit for such things. I was thoroughly impressed. I saw a wide mix of families and cultures which means they are culturally sensitive, not that is surprising. This is the U of M we are talking about. Pediatric dentistry at its very finest. We will return."
