"I don't normally leave bad reviews, but in this case I feel like I need to. Over the past 2 months I had my nails filled here twice. Last week, I broke one of my nails off and found a greenish brown spot underneath of it. I honestly thought it was a bruise from the nail being torn off. The next day I went to get my nails redone as I wanted them to be redone anyway. I ended up going to Miami nails in North Branch because of convenience. I was already in town. The nail tech took one look at my nail and said "That is not a bruise. That is fungus." I was very much shocked. As he started taking off the rest of my nails we found another spot on another nail. This one was much bigger. He had asked me if they took off the previous gel nails. I said no, they only took off the paint and used the tool to sand down the gel acrylic. This is not right. Because of how they do things at this salon, fungus grew under my nails. The gel separates from my nails and water gets trapped under them, which causes the fungus. The nail tech at Miami also said my nails were so incredibly thin and he would not redo them now. A doctor even told me that I would need to wait weeks for them to heal and I would need to buy a cream to help get rid of the fungus. A few days after this happened my mom had gone back into star nails to ask them about why this would happen. Instead of taking responsibility for their errors they blamed me and said it was because my hands were in water too much. They also said that it was normal and that the nails are supposed to separate from the gel acrylic. The tech at Miami nails said he had never had this problem in the 19 years he had been doing nails. I also talked to a women at Miami Nails when I found out what was going on with my nails. She told me that he daughter had gone there ONE time and one of her nails turned green. I won't be going back to Star Nails. I am very upset that their cheap equipment and errored practices led to my nails being so thin and damaged. If you are thinking about going to Star Nails, I highly recommend you take the extra 15 minutes to go to Miami Nails in North Branch. Nini and Bob run the salon and are very nice and they do incredible work."

"On 7-28-22 a group of us went in for pedicures.They used cheese graters on our TOES before we knew what was happening. All 3 of us had bleeding toes and 2 of us got infections.When I called to share the concern they offered to refund our money which was nice, I didn’t ask for this. When I showed up, the owner only would partially refund 1 of them loudly stating that the others “were not her problem!” She was yelling at me in front of my son and everyone in there. I asked her at least 4 times to lower her voice. She claimed my friends toes were already infected. No they were not! My daughter has such a deep cut on her big toe that they had to put stuff on it in the salon to stop the bleeding. The yelling at me about how it was not her problem was not only unprofessional it was ridiculous! Why tell me I’m getting a refund and then when I come in for it the owner just yells at me and argues why there won’t be a full refund. How unprofessional and I will never return after that kind of treatment! I’ve included picture of two different people. Unacceptable.when my friend called back to express concern she also got yelled at and no one ever said I’m sorry! I’ve had MANY pedicures and NEVER EVER been treated like this."
