"Nordstrom customer service has gone downhill! I ordered a very expensive purse through their app. It was supposed to be ready for pickup that same day (3/19/24), so I drove into the store to pick it up. It wasn't ready. The sales associate in the designer purse department wasn't there, so I had to have someone go find her. She then tried to have me re-purchase the purse there and then said she would issue me a refund on a Nordstrom gift card. I told her I didn't want the display purse, and without question, she told me they don't carry the purse in stock, and I would have to take the display. She was clearly trying really hard to make the sale, but I can at least appreciate the hustle. *Side Note: My friend just so happened to be there at the same time as me to pickup an online order that she put in the day prior, saying it would be ready on 3/19 as well. It wasn't. I left the store and called the Online Order/Pickup Department to ask if the purse would be the display and to cancel my order if it was. The woman who answered cut me off and told me to call back once the order was ready for pickup. I received an email today saying my order was ready for pickup. I called the Online Order/Pickup department back to ask them if my purse was the display purse and if so, I would like to cancel my order. I think it was the same woman because she cut me off and was very rude. I gave her my order number and she said she had an order under "Michelle." I gave her the number again, and again, Michelle. She looked me up by my name and couldn't find my order. She put me on hold and said she would transfer me to her coworker, so she could try and help me. She put me on hold and never returned. I sat on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up - really wanting to give her the benefit of the doubt. I don't think she had any intention of returning or having anyone else help me. I had to email the store manager to get anyone that was competent and willing to help me. I believe the man's name was Tony. He is the ONLY reason I am giving 2 stars. He was very polite, empathetic, and concerned, and what I remember Nordstrom's customer service to be. I know that customer service is what Nordstrom prides themselves on, and what I experienced in the last 24 hours wasn't it. Oh, and to top it all off, Tony told me they had 3 of the bags I ordered in stock. But by the end of it, I just wanted my money back and to support another business. Advice for Nordstrom Mall of America: Hire more Tonys and get rid of whoever the woman in Online Ordering/Pickup is."
"My four stars are due to their shoe department’s supply for local weather, only! Small and just not much there … but another oddity: went to breezeway restroom on second floor to find two men smoking weed right next to doors going in store / the whole second floor reeked! I was told Minnesota has some odd laws for using marijuana, but Nordstrom should provide security for what two sales associates described as an ongoing issue."
"Went to Nordstrom tonight looking for cologne. A coworker of mine told me I should check out Creed because it’s worth the money and smells amazing. I went to the Creed stand and the lady standing there completely ignored me for a good 30 seconds. When I asked asked if I could get a small sample, she looked at me with this irritated look and made it feel as if it was such an inconvenience for her, or as if I was a young kid who just wants free stuff. I loved the cologne but will definitely go to a different location when I buy it. This was not customer service and does not deserve my money or business."
"It’s always a good day to shop at Nordstrom. I love the new holiday decorations this year. I walked through the store on Black Friday and it was the busiest I’ve ever seen Nordstrom on Black Friday. I came back on Monday and there were less people and the sales looked to be the same. A new associate rang up my sale. She missed one detail but we got it corrected with a little help from a co-worker. Like I said, it’s always a good day to shop at Nordstrom. Thank you and happy holidays!"
"All I can say is what a disappointment. I researched this department store before we made travel plans from the boarding state. I have never been to Nordstrom before, so I was super excited to explore this store. Also, it said they carried family Christmas pj's and homework candles by Harry Slacken. After arriving and searching the entire store, we found they didn't carry either one. Every associate we asked sent us in another direction, although they were polite."
