"This is the first area that you see when you drive in from the ticketing booth at the state park. As you turn in, you see the beautiful Picacho mountains. I like this area the best as it offers the access to pretty much all of the trails in the park. There's the Callaway Trail which is a short quarter mile to an overlook, Hunters Trail that takes you up to the peak, Nature Trail which is a beginner path, and Children's Cave Trail which brings you to a small alcove. The area has 2 restrooms and also a small playground; don't recall seeing any water fountains... There's ramadas as well with picnic tables, and it looks like the group ones do require reservation. Plenty of parking spots in the roundabout area, but closer to the trailhead at the far end, spots are a bit a more limited so come early."
