Midland LTVA
About the Business
The Midland Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA) is a campground, lodging, and park located at Unnamed Road, Blythe, California, United States. This area offers traditional open desert dispersed camping with minimal services, allowing visitors to experience the mild winter climate of the Colorado Desert. Activities such as fishing and boating on the Colorado River, rock hounding at Quartzite, Arizona, and shopping in Blythe are available nearby. Campers must be self-contained for waste and gray water as vault toilets are not provided. A Special Recreation Permit is required from September 15th - April 15th, with camping allowed at no cost between April 16th - September 14th with a 14-day limit. Long-term permits are $180 for 7 months, while short-term permits are $40 for 1 to 14 consecutive days. The permits are valid in any of the six LTVAs in California or two LTVAs in Arizona. Safety precautions should be taken due to desert hazards, and all rules and regulations must be followed. Visitors must purchase a permit for camping during the designated seasons.

"Very quiet and serene. Zero highway noise. This place is beyond quiet. Lots of wildlife roams around the area. Park was clean and had a sewer dump and garbage service. Definitely will camp here again. The star gazing was top notch because it's ten miles from town so nothing interfered with the night sky . I really enjoyed my stay. The park host ,Myron was knowledgeable and very nice. One of my favorite BLM camps ever."
"Camp host is fantastic. We loved how much room there is here. Dump and area are very clean. Would be 5 stars if they had portable water available."
"Great place, easy to access, but be advised: no water, toilet, nor dump station. The lte signal is the best of all ltva I visited. So great place to work remotely."
"Byron is the host here and he’s an amazing, caring guy."
"Midland LTVA is about 9 mi north of Blythe, paved road all the way. The LTVA is very large and open..little shade. There is a host onsite and you can purchase LTVA stickers at the host trailer, cash or check...goes in an iron ranger locked box. Limited cell on TMobile. Dumpsters and a RV black tank dump...but NO DUMP RINSE WATER AND NO POTABLE WATER. Only self contained RVs are allowed, so the rules note. Lots of room, not very crowded end of Jan, Blythe has a nice Albertsons grocery and there is even a Starbucks in town on the corner turn to go ahead put of town north to the LTVA. Only 3 stars due to NO POTABLE WATER, however it is much quieter than others!"
