"This is an amazing and adventurous backpacking trip ,it's 10 mile hike to go to havasupai campgrounds , please start in the morning if you planned to hike during summer, Carry plenty of water minimum 3 liters, once you have reached the village you can have food in the cafe or go and setup your tent and rest well or if you have still time that day you can checkout nearby falls like Havasu which is on the way to campgrounds or fifty foot falls, little Navajo falls On your second day you can visit Mooney and Beaver falls which is another small hike from campgrounds.please wear non slippery water shoes or hiking boots and gloves to hike down and up to the Mooney falls and expect minimum 3 water crossing to Beaver falls hike (recommended to visit this falls before 9.30AM so that you can have this entire pool to yourself) If you really wanted to experience the hiking and canyon views with the river I recommend doing the confluence hike where the Havasu Creek merges in Colorado river which is 16 mile out and back and please please start early by 6 in the morning as it's unmarked trail and sometimes people might get detoured or lost. If you get a chance try to have the fry bread near Havasu falls which is very delicious On your way to the hiltop please fill your water bladders , Carry electrolytes and start early hours in the morning so that you don't get much sunlight Please respect the tribe and their land for sharing with us."
"All time bucket list hike. After quick descent trail is gentle decline with lots of sand and vegetation. Magnificent canyon walls. No crowds. Much better than Grand Canyon south rim tourist overload. Falls are spectacular. campgrounds were great. Hidden gem was 50 Foot Falls near Havasupai village. Great swim. Village is very sad and poor. Cafe and market were third world quality."
"Absolutely epic trip! It's a 10 mile hike in, very much recommended to start in the wee hours of the morning if it's a summer hike. The sun rises and can be brutal. 4L of water recommended as there is no water sources on the trail. We stayed for 3 days and hiked all 5 waterfalls. Dry camping, and witnessed the monsoon and how the villagers are quick to warn everyone to seek higher grounds. About a mile from camp is a wonderful lady and her family that serve fried bread , and oh my gosh it's amazing. Especially since it's fresh and you are in the desert with dehydrated foods. Recommended gloves for the hike down to Mooney Falls, and to definitely wear either nonslip water shoes or your hiking shoes. By the end of your stay you are exhausted but have a 10 mile hike out, so make sure that you eat and rest prior to this and fill your water bottles or bladders. This was my first long backpacking experience and it was absolutely amazing. Please remember to pack out what you pack in and respect the tribe and their beautiful land they have graciously shared with us."
