"The shop is the perfect blend of "mom and pop" friendliness and high-end professional skill. After my daughter's wedding, both of our dresses were in dire need of cleaning; the hems were literally black. I didn't think it was possible to get them completely clean, but since they were expensive, I wanted to try. I found Arcadia Cleaners (with endorsements from top-notch bridal sites) so I brought the dresses in, and that's where my truly lovely experience started. Rayna and her colleagues took exquisite care of both gowns, and her veil, too. Though they were busy, they admired photos from the day, and explained the entire cleaning process, showing me the cleaning room to reassure me that the gowns wouldn't leave the premises (I didn't want our special dresses shipped off somewhere). While my daughter's dress was obviously more important to me than my own, Rayna still paid just as much attention to its intricate beadwork and sequins. I knew everything was in good hands! I was amazed to see that my dress was ready in just a few days; I honestly was ready to wait quite a while. When I picked it up, the staff remembered me, had my dress perfectly wrapped for transport and storage, and continued to compliment me on what a gorgeous dress it was. They even thanked me for the pleasure of working on it! When I looked at the hemline, I was genuinely astounded--it was as clean as the day I bought it. Every sequin and bead shone like new; it’s absolutely pristine. We all agreed that I have to find another occasion to wear it! Rayna kept me updated on my daughter's dress's progress via text, and I was happy to see that it was finished even earlier than she had quoted. Again, I didn't expect it to get completely clean, when it really was absolutely black on all the layers around the entire hemline--I was astounded once more to see that it was as clean as the day we bought it. Not only was every inch of the hemline immaculate, but so was the veil and the entire dress itself. Rayna and her team had gone over both dresses with precision, checking for nearly invisible spots (champage drops, etc) that if not caught now, would be permanently yellow in a few years. She stuffed the bodice with tissue, steamed out every wrinkle, and carefully draped and folded the veil with the dress. The veil wasn't as expensive as the gown, of course, but it had sentimental value because I had hand-sewn all the silk flowers onto it, so I was touched that they spent so much time taking care of it. When I had left the shop on the day I dropped the dress off, Rayna reassured me: "I will take care of this gown as if it was my own daughter's," and she sure did. :) By this time, the professional photos had arrived, and even though she was busy, Rayna spent time gushing over how gorgeous the dress was. What a kind and friendly businesswoman she is--making that extra gesture to show that she really cares about the garments she's handling, and how special the memories are that she's working on. So from start to finish, I couldn't be more pleased with my experience here. I was never upsold (i.e. persuaded to spend more money on preserving the dress rather than just cleaning it), I was kept abreast of the progress, the results are better than I hoped for, and it was all completed with such wonderful, professional folks. My only regret is that I didn't think to take close-up "before" photos of the hemlines, but I've included a few photos of both my daughter's dress and mine, as well as close-up shots of the finished hemline of the wedding gown after Rayna worked her magic. Zooming in on the shot of the bride and groom dancing will reveal just how dirty the hemline was, and zooming in on my dress will show how intricate the beadwork was--that will help any potential customers see how skilled this shop is at handling challenging cleaning jobs. If the opportunity ever presents itself again for me to have high-end wedding attire cleaned again, I know where I will go in an instant. Rayna and her team are the best in town!"
