"I really hate giving this review because but I don't want others getting treated the way I have by Baker & Griffin these past 2 years. The first year I had them do my taxes (I'm a sole proprietor business), I dropped off all my business and personal tax info, which has my SSN on it, in the last week of January. Around the end of March I started to become uneasy because this should be a easy job and I had heard nothing from them. After a few phone conversations, they made excuses about why my taxes weren't done and it dragged out over another few weeks. I eventually told them to have my information ready so could come pick it up and take it elsewhere. When I arrived at the office I was told that they had lost all my information including the password to my bookkeeping program and SSN. That is why my taxes were not done. Eventually these were found but it felt dishonest and as though they were hiding this from me. I should have acknowledged it this and moved on for the following year. This year I tried to go back to them and give them another shot thinking it was a one off situation. I electronically transmitted all my business and tax info via a portal link to them the 2nd week of March because we had a tax extension to May 17. On May 17 (yesterday), the official tax day, I found out my taxes were not done and would not be done after having 8 full weeks to complete this task. Again, after trying to track them down over during this time to get answers is when I find this out. I feel this was dishonest because I could have easily found someone to do these for me during this time. Just with last season, there were numerous excuses as to why these were not completed (software issues, moving offices, busy) and no ownership to just flat out not getting the job done and communicating that to me so I had time to find another person or company. I genuinely like these two as people and they're very nice but if you're looking to for people that are communicative, efficient, and will tell you when they hit road blocks and give a clear plan forward, this is not the place to go. I made a huge mistake trusting them with my taxes for a 2nd year. I ended up putting my professional responsibilities aside and doing them myself to make the deadline."
