"Absolute terrible customer service! You get connected to Philipines and they are zero help! I was supposed to get 6 months interest free on my Lowes card through these guys and I found they have been charging me interest. The woman was useless and barely spoke English. She was zero help and had some attitude on her. I asked for a supervisor and she kept trying to tell me nonsense. When I told her no more I want a supervisor now she put me on an indefinite hold. I hung up after 20 mins and called back spoke to another useless person who was supposed to get me a supervisor but put me on hold again indefinitely. Shame on them! I have like 5 different accounts with them and spend anywhere between 3 to 5 grand a month on them which will never happen again. Congratulations on losing a great customer for less than ten bucks and being petty about the whole situation!"
"If I could give Synchrony ZERO stars I would!!! Literally was sent a letter in the mail stating they closed my account and this letter was dated in December 2023, and we didn’t receive anything till almost the end of January! For what you say, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! I have made all my payments ON TIME! I was never informed via email or the app. They are the shadiest bank to go through!! I will NEVER use this bank again and will tell all my family and friends not to do business with your bank! It’s so pathetic you treat your customers this way, esp when all bills have been paid on time. The rep on the phone also lied and said the credit bureau updated them on my credit status report and that’s why they closed it! So having almost a 700 credit score, you still close the account! If I already had an open credit card with synchrony, why would the credit bureau need to send them updates when I was already approved and no other purchases have been made either! All LIES STAY AWAY!"
"I had a card through Sam Levitt with a $10,000 credit limit. I have made all payments on time and had a balance of like $2000. Two weeks after misunderstanding with the payment, they closed my account. Will never bank or recommend synchrony. Customer service is no help at all. My credit utilization was severely impacted by their decision and My credit score dropped. Although I thought I was a valued customer, I don’t think anyone truly is. Do yourself a favor and skip this bank!"
"Do yourself a favor and do not accept any cards from this bank. I have two with them (one Amazon and another through a different retailer) and never had any late payments, ever. On one of them, I paid off the full amount within about a month and a half of the purchase I made with it and left the balance at zero. Without warning, they reduced the credit limit of the one that was paid off from almost $5k to just $250, which hurts your total credit utilization rate on my credit report. To make matters worse, they ALSO suddenly reduced the credit limit on a regularly used Amazon account from several thousand dollars to just $500. Because I had a current balance of about $400 (again, never missed a payment), this resulted in my credit score dropping because it now showed a 95% credit utilization on that card. No warnings, no missed payments, nothing. They just decided to do it twice without notice. Skip this bank. Move on. Will hurt your credit without notice despite no missed payments and low credit utilization (until they decide to randomly reduce your limit by 90% that is)."
"Have 5 different accounts with synchrony all in good standings. Never a late payment on any of my accounts. One of my accounts was a Discount Tire card. Made a purchase of $1400 and payed it off in 9 month no interest promotion period. 4 months later they shut the account with no warning or phone call. I will never accept another account with synchrony again."
