"I was having acute pain and symptoms related to a gall bladder disorder. My PCP recommended I see Dr. Skoog. Unfortunately, I could not get into see Dr. Skoog for several weeks. I was in pain and agreed to see Leslie Zeckser, PA-C because I could get in within a week. What a mistake!!! She walked into the room having already made up her mind that I needed an upper endoscopy. She never even sat down, she didn't ask me any questions, didn't discuss my symptoms, and only focused on the most minor symptom I had reported in the paperwork to support her recommendation. (She literally stood up with her arms crossed throughout the appointment.) After I adamantly refused the upper endoscopy despite her attempts to insist, she begrudgingly agreed to send me for another scan and acted like it was a waste of time. When the office staff called with the results of the scan, I told them I was never coming back to their office. (Apparently, no one cares, because no one asked me why.) Further, she seemed MUCH more interested in trying to get me to schedule a colonoscopy than actually addressing my immediate pain and the reason for my appointment! (Wonder if they have a quota?) Ultimately, I went to another GI doctor (who was kind, sat down and discussed my symptoms (all of my symptoms, how long I had been having them, what caused them, etc) and who seemed to actually listen to me and try to determine what might be wrong.) I ended up getting my diseased gall bladder out 2 weeks after seeing the other GI doctor. Glad I didn't undergo a bunch of unnecessary tests. (The other GI doctor never even suggested an upper endoscopy and said we could discuss a colonoscopy after my immediate issue was resolved.)"

"They tried to charge me more than my insurance despite my insurance having reached maximum out of pocket already and covering everything 100%. Also, I never even saw a doctor. It was just a Nurse Practitioner that frankly did nothing other than be annoyed at my problem, refusing to schedule an endoscopy for my stomach ulcer. The visit lasted less than 10mins and they charged me $475."

"They called and asked if I'd reschedule my time of arrival for a colonoscopy. No big deal. I did all the prep work and all the unpleasantness that goes along with it. My wife took the day off to drive me home. I got a call this morning just after taking my last round of prep telling me that Dr. Jones has been "inconvenienced" and my appointment is canceled. Emergencies, I get. But don't tell me you're inconvenienced when I've been on a liquid diet and on the toilet all night and my wife and I have both lost a day of work. I called to reschedule and was informed that I can't be seen for two months. I asked if I could get some consideration because I was dropped four hours before my appointment. The answer was no. If you think your inconvenience is going to be taken into consideration at Digestive Health Specialists, I can assure you, it won't."
