Reviews of Buena Fitness
"I was staying in Candlewoods and they have a partnership with Buena Health Fitness Gym were you can go for free!! Management really friendly and thanks to the Marines Veteran in the front desk for all the help. Great Gym and a lot of equipment."
"This used to be my favorite local gym, when it was run by Hank (88 yr old. former bodybuilder) and his son Danny. Huge space, well equipped and you could overlook the dingy, run down feel, with some pieces of equipment out of service. However, the new management feels very corporate. Joshua, the new manager is reasonably personable ( though not like Hank and Danny that knew everyone by name). But when I qualified for Silver Sneakers, Joshua assured me they would stop charging my membership fees, since Silver Sneakers pay it through Medicare. However, I continued to be charged every month. Joshua was not there when I visited so I left several messages to get it fixed and a refund. He never bothered to call me. I finally spoke to Luther who said he would get future charges stopped and took my phone number, again, so Joshua could call me. However, Joshua never bothered to, even though I was told he got the message. Guess he could not be bothered. So they lost a customer of two years and I paid my bank $30 to stop future payments. Sign of the times in corporate America. Oh, and Joshua also got rid of a good massage therapist so he could take her office. Pity. I did eventually speak to Joshua in person and politely described my disappointment that he had cost me money by not doing what he was supposed to do. Also that he’d not bothered to call me back, even if just to apologize. I mentioned I had received a message from Danny, apologizing for the behavior of the new manager. Joshua sneered, “Danny is nothing.” I replied, “You seem at first like a nice, competent guy. But you’re really neither.” “That’s just your opinion,” said Joshua, with absolutely no sense of owing me an apology and money. “Yes, Joshua, and it’s based on what you do.” There are many nicer gyms in town, run in a more professional way, so why would I support this place with my business anymore? The new owner never replied to email, either? There’s a pattern."
"This is a very unique facility. It has old school professional grade free weights for serious bodybuilders as well as huge variety of machines for those who prefer more controlled weight lifting. This facility also had a nice boxing ring with heavy bags and boxing practice accessories. But, above it all, probably the jewel of Buena fitness is the legendary Mr. Hank Diaz who has been bodybuilding himself for over 40 years and trained countless bodybuilders during his career. If you never met this man, then I highly suggest you pay a visit and use his knowledge of physical training to take your training to the next level. At age 89 Mr. Díaz opens the gym every day of the week at 03:30am and take care of his clients better than anyone I have ever met."
"By far the best gym in the local area. They have a massive facility, with every kind of equipment you could possibly need. The owner is the nicest man you'll meet. There are a plethora of cardio machines and an entire boxing room, with a ring. They do hot yoga classes as well, so virtually everything fitness related is doable here. The pricing is also fantastic for what's offered."
