"My kids have been seeing Dr. Perlstein for years, since they were both newborns. He is thorough and knows what he is talking about. He doesn't waste time but listens to concerns. He is silly for the kids and doesn't take himself too seriously which is great for working with kids. He is quick to respond to messages and medication refills and the office staff have always been wonderful as well."

"DO NOT LET HIM EXAMINE YOUR KIDS. Not only is Dr. Perlstein arrogant and argumentative, but his conduct with my 3yo daughter was flat out inappropriate. I took my two kids in with coughs and sore throats and asked him to test for “rsv and anything else he thought it could be”. His reply was “why would I test for something if it doesn’t change how you treat it at home?” Well, the following day my kids both tested positive for strep, and my 11mo old was hospitalized days later with RSV. But what irks me the MOST about Dr. Perlstein is that he spent 20 minutes talking to me about what asthma is BEFORE he even listened to my daughter’s lungs. Then once he finally did listen to her breathing after I practically begged him to move on with the rest of the exam, HE PROCEEDED TO RUN HIS FINGERS THROUGH MY DAUGHTER’S HAIR AND ASK ME IF HER HAIR COLOR WAS NATURAL. He then ABRUPTLY lifted her shirt to show us how she was breathing without asking for her or my permission. My daughter was visibly uncomfortable. I had to have a conversation with my daughter about safe touch after seeing him and told her that even though he’s a doctor, it’s not okay for him to lift up her clothes without asking and it’s DEFINITELY not okay to run his fingers through her hair! He was argumentative with me and wanted to be the smartest person in the room. But then as soon as we were leaving the exam room, his entire demeanor and tone changed. He was overly accommodating and polite to us in front of the other staff. All my alarm bells are going off and I genuinely think someone needs to check this man’s personal computer and search history. DO NOT LET THIS MAN AROUND KIDS. PHOENIX CHILDRENS SHOULD PAY CLOSER ATTENTION TO WHO THEY HIRE. When we brought our concerns to PHX children’s, my husband and I felt dismissed because he’s been practicing for decades. Well, that doesn’t mean anything if you can’t treat children or their parents with dignity and respect. I’m disgusted and we will NEVER allow him to treat our children ever again."
