Fairbank
About the Business
Fairbank is a historic "ghost town" located in Huachuca City, Arizona, United States. Originally established as Junction City, then Kendall, and finally named Fairbank in 1883, the town served as an important depot and railroad stop for travelers heading to Tombstone. The town was built on an old Mexican land grant, which was later acquired by the Boquillas Land and Cattle Company. Today, Fairbank is part of the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area and is open to the public for self-guided tours. Visitors can explore the remnants of this once thriving western town and learn about its history. Please be respectful of the historic artifacts and leave everything in its place to help preserve our heritage. Plan your visit by following directions from Tucson or Sierra Vista to reach Fairbank Historic Townsite. Experience a piece of the wild west and enjoy the beauty of the San Pedro River while exploring Fairbank.

"We visited Fairbank back in the mid 90’s and I’m very impressed with what they have done to preserve the ghost town and turn it into a very accessible place. Good signage, pathways and even a public restroom. Didn’t have time to make it to the cemetery or river but I could see someone spending at least an hour here. The walk into the actual town is just a couple hundred yards from the parking area. There is also handicap parking and a drop off pick up area right where the buildings start. A very well layer out plan for the best preserved ghost town on the San Pedro river."
"I always enjoy hiking the trail here which is a 4 mile loop, very scenic"
"Great place to learn about how important the town of Fairbank was when the mining boom took off in the neighboring towns like Tombstone and Bisbee. Has plaques spread around that you must stop and read. Great hike, very well maintained place."
"Nice ghost town, limited information on historical facts. Several trails to walk the dog. About 6 buildings and cemetery, train stop and mill."
