"We are a military family and 2 of our children attend ACA. My 3rd grader has the most amazing teacher! Mrs. Lemkuhl.. she is so helpful and kind.. you can tell she really cares about her students. She tolerates me so well. We lost 2 family members and my health has gone down hill. So because of this we have gotten behind here and there. She's so understanding.. she has the biggest heart. I felt like I was such a big nuisance but she made me feel human. We feel so blessed to have her in our lives. She is always there for us! She is a rare gem for sure! My daughter is a senior attending ACA. We have had some issues with her teachers but we know that they all have a heavy load. So my only complaint is teachers not showing up to live lessons and tutoring does not help most of the time.. I've read the not so great reviews.. but what these parents do not understand is that the teachers are human and they do the best they can. The teachers do not make the lessons.. they have to go through them and adjust the lessons for their students so yes some of the lessons seem to be all over the place.. not the teachers fault.. I do not regret enrolling my children into ACA and I am very greatful for all that they have done for us. Thank you ACA! Especially Mrs. Lehmkuhl!"
"Can’t get past the enrollment process so good luck. So bummed because I have been trying since April of this year and no one cares and only one person ever followed up. I did everything on time for early enrollment but their student screening survey form won’t submit. It is an issue on their website and no one will think outside the box and find a way to complete my daughter’s submission. They kept saying they were working on it or would follow up but didn’t so now I have missed other enrollment deadlines. I really want this one to work out but now I am scrambling to find another option because an online school can’t figure out their own online website."
"This is a great school. My daughters have been going for the last three years. My oldest have speech once a week, and she loves to talk to her. They bother really like their teachers. The teachers will call the parent and talk to you child once a month, or more if you have a question. You get everything for the classes in the mail. We have two computers from them. They do state testing like other public schools. Ignore the others that put one star. Enrolling wasn't hard at all."
"My high school junior has been enrolled for 2.5 years and I’m trying to get her out now. Previous to this we homeschooled her but wanted to ensure she was fully prepared for college admissions. We made a really bad choice. This place is so disorganized and terrible at communicating. The vast majority of teachers need to find another career, as they’re either incompetent or apathetic (for example, not showing up for scheduled phone calls). The counselors care even less. The quality of education is very poor. Their extracurricular is a joke, which is something to consider if your kid is college bound. Horrible communication, very unreliable. Your child’s education and college prep is too important to chance it with a place like this. Don’t make the same mistake we did."
"I'm a recent High School graduate at this online Charter school that is publicly funded. If you want to make an investment into your child's future success then this school is the yellow brick road to do so. The curriculum is amazing and rigorous where each student gets actual feedback of encouragement from teachers on their projects. AP and Honor classes are also offered. The teachers are always supportive and open to help. They offer one-on-one sessions where you go into an online virtual room and talk to a teacher with a headset. Then he/she shares her screen and walks you through every question or problem you are having whatever it may be; which was great for me because I am a very visual learner. In addition you can talk to your teachers over the phone or through emails. They also map out your student's progress in school and show you goals to reach through their "Progression Plan" model. This school also gives you the opportunity to attend numerous field trips throughout the year(optional). More so than regularly brick-and-mortal public schools. If you want to avoid the drama of the horrible condition brick-and-mortal Arizona public schools are in with students doing drugs, fights, bullying and kids showing up to school just to interrupt the learning of others then this is your escape. This school is fully accredited and recognized as their website says. I joined the Air Force directly after graduating and this school gave me the skills and knowledge to score high enough on the military entrance exam to be qualified for any enlistee job that I desired. My recruiter was also able to quickly look up my school through his military database and to see if it was accredited since the military only accepts High School diplomas from accredited High Schools."
