"A lovely and serene oasis of peace. You don't have to be catholic or christian to appreciate the gorgeous architecture and decor. La Conquistadora is of particular historical note. This statue of Madonna and child was brought to the US in 1626. She has a wardrobe of ~300 outfits and many wigs of human hair, and as such is frequently dressed differently in her display."
"My favorite place in the world to celebrate weekend Sunday morning Mass at 11:00a. With the like of Father John or special guest Archbishop Wester, the Mass is a wonderful way to celebrate the words, works, and life experiences of Jesus Christ. One of the great experiences is the incredible choir ensemble and (Orchestra if you're fortunate to hear them.) Their leader and singer has one of the most incredible voices you'll ever hear. There is also a gentleman in the choir that sings solos like Ave Maria and others. If you're in attendance and get to hear him, close your eyes in silence, enjoy and you'll think you've just entered heaven! Its that magical of an experience and something you must experience. The Basilica of St. Francis is a special place to me and this holds true as it was where my high school class held our graduation ceremony. It was also a special place where we honored my beautiful mother's funeral ceremony, along with my sister-in-law's Rosary and funeral. J. Rodney Tafoya Parishioner and devout Catholic~"
"The Cathedral of St Francis is a Roman Catholic Church in Sante Fe. It is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. It’s a must see during your visit to the land of enchantment. It simple in design but beautiful at the same time."
"This place is amazing. The history behind it is astonishing. The beauty of the whole building is unbelievable. My whole family loved visiting and seeing this cathedral. It felt very serene inside. It also has a gift shop inside filled with neat items. I highly recommend going to see the cathedral."
"Wonderful place to celebrate the Mass. We attended Mass on a Sunday morning during a recent trip to Santa Fe, NM. The celebrant at the Mass was the pastor, Most Reverend John C. Wester, Archbishop of Santa Fe, NM. He was wonderful. To describe the Cathedral as beautiful is an understatement! It is breathtaking... Just walking in the door you feel closer to God! The stained-glass artwork is exceptional. Perhaps most striking about the Mass was the music. A new sound system had been installed a couple of weeks earlier. The choir was great, and the individual singers even better, especially the children that sang solo! The parish clearly devotes a lot of time, energy and funding in support of the music ministry at the parish. Truly, one of the most beautiful Masses we have ever attended. We will definitely be in attending Mass at the Cathedral Basilica every time we visit Santa Fe, NM."
