Mannion Middle School

"I had the pleasure of visiting this school a few years ago as a visiting teacher from Australia - The dedication of the staff and the high quality of teaching I observed brought me to the conclusion that this school and the standard of instruction is nothing short of excellent. The staff were very caring, and each of the activities I observed had the students fully engaged. Even after talking to the students, the random people that I spoke to took pride in their school and all said how much they loved it. I brought back home some wonderful classroom ideas from this school and look back at my time there with wonderful memories. From a visiting teachers point of view from Australia, I would highly recommend this school as being caring, engaging and the staff clearly strive for excellence and you can see they really enjoy their jobs which is also a reflection of a good school. A successful school must have happy teachers who enjoy coming to work each day, and this is what I observed. I would dearly love to come back to the school and pay another visit when I next visit the USA. The teaching staff I met were amazing and very welcoming. As a disclaimer, I have no commercial interest and nothing to gain from what I have written. It is my honest opinion and based on first hand primary observations. If I thought any differently, it would be reflected in this review."

"The school is very overcrowded. I moved here a few months ago and have the worst grades of my life and have been getting extra help from my teachers and I’m still struggling. The lunch situation also is pretty annoying I mean come on if you don’t sit at certain tables you can’t go outside. Also I really wish I was aloud to have gum because I have ADD and it’s very difficult for me to sit still and gum would help with that. Overall bad experience here and wish they would change some things."

"This school honestly isn’t to great and they have literally the dumbest Halloween rules 1 scar only. I would like to know how you expect kids to like your school if you have the lamest rules possible. Please fix this as a rule and allow full face paint if kids decide that’s what they want after all it’s junior high they should get more paint because their older and more mature. With Halloween coming up the design ideas are limited and all this school is doing is making your life harder."

"I am a 6th grader here I think that the staff seems nice .The music room, Orchestra, choir, and band is a very nice elective to have. The dress code is pretty strict but it teaches you that sometimes you have to wear what ever the boss tells you to wear. The teacher do there job the exact way they have to. The only thing is this they stated a thing called the way hallway, and I have been last to 2 of my classes because of it. Any way great school"

"The teachers and staff are overloaded with children and seem to have very little control of behavior, bullying, etc. My child has attended this school for 2 full years now and has had the worst grades here of her entire life. I recommend using an online or magnet school if you are stuck in this neighborhood."
