"Brutish unrefined sloppy unprofessional therapist who nearly broke my foot by yanking it so hard I nearly leapt off the table in pain! She went on and on about herself her story her exploits all unsolicited...so I couldn't just relax and enjoy the experience. Terrible experience. They don't even have bottles of water for you either."
"They had tried on 2 occasions to charge me during an "account freeze," and I had to argue to get refunded, so I finally cancelled my membership (I should have done it earlier, but they always try to find ways to get you to reconsider and do the recommended "freeze" instead because they don't want to not be able to keep charging your account.) I would not recommend a membership at any Massage Envy because they will try to pull this with any customer that signs up, and then say that the wrongful charges "cannot be refunded." That is not true. ALWAYS get a refund if they had you go through the trouble of filling out their "account freeze" form and charged you anyways. It's your right."
"Edit to say the fact that I posted this review 5 days ago and you see no one has replied on the post, says a lot. I have been a Massage Envy customer for over almost a decade and have been a member at about 3 in 3 different states since we have moved around quite a bit. I have never had issues cancelling my membership when I needed to, but at this location I experienced for the first time this problem (that many others have notoriously complained about the Massage Envy chain for a long time). I cancelled this membership thinking maybe I would return later in the future, but was not sure of what timeline due to personal reasons. I called to request a cancellation form and was sent one via email. I submitted the cancellation form to be sent on October 18. I emailed on October 20 asking to confirm the form was received. No reply. I later called the location and was told they received it but because cancellation required 30 days notice I would be charged in November and have 1 more credit. I said fine. The person I spoke with told me about freezing my account and that option which I didn’t get upset at, it’s their job to try to keep people as members. I politely declined. That should have been my last charge on November 1 and the end of that story. I then receive earlier this week an email randomly from the manager of this Massage Envy telling me about the freeze form and how it is an option. Confused, I emailed back and told her that I had cancelled my membership so I was puzzled as to why she was emailing me about freezing my account when theoretically I am not a member? I asked to confirm that my account was closed as requested back in October. That was a red flag and the no reply was ever given. Fast forward to today and I wake up to a $75 charge on my credit card from Massage Envy. This is totally unacceptable and again, the last 3 locations in Maryland and Virginia I was members of, I NEVER had this issue. At this point this location has had several opportunities to ensure that they made this right, so even if it was a “mistake” they willfully ignored my several emails asking to confirm this membership was cancelled. I can honestly say I will never get a membership at another Massage Envy franchise location, regardless of ownership ever again due to this very shady practice that I never thought I would be a victim of. I am an attorney and know my rights as a consumer, so I truly find it particularly appalling when companies do things like this. It makes customers lose trust in them, and providing your personal credit card information is not something that should be taken lightly. I already was on the fence about this location before this billing issue, but had not totally written them off since it was conveniently located for me. When I finally found a therapist that didn’t talk the entire massage and did a great job, she left and they recommended a new one. She was great but her availability was so limited I started to have to book at another location that had way more availability towards the end of my membership. Months ago, I went to get a facial once at this location and booked online same day - I guess no one communicated with the esthetician that an appointment had been booked because I had to wait 15 min past my start time for her to arrive. She was lovely but the lack of organization and communication was not great. I do not recommend this location and I can no longer recommend the Massage Envy brand after this experience. Let’s see how long it will take to reverse the charge or if they will even do it."
"First time getting a massage at Massage Envy and I enjoyed my experience very much. The staff was super helpful over the phone and in person. One thing they recommend for first timers is come in 10 minutes before your appointment time to complete some electronic forms and run down of what to expect. Making an appointment was easy online, however, it does require you to create an account. This helps speed up the process before showing up for your appointment and paying after your appointment so I recommend it as it also shows the services it provides. Super helpful! You will also receive a text message reminder on the same day to remind you of your appointment time. Valencia at the front desk was super helpful and informative. She welcomed me in, explained everything offered at this location, answered questions and offered me water. Checked me in and had me ready to go. Laura is who I had for my session and she was very accommodating on intensity of pressure during the massage. She checked to see if there is any pain or medication she needs to worry about. I told her about my left shoulder and she focused on it during the session. She will check to see if you want more pressure or lighter to make sure you are not hurting. I felt great afterwards! I highly recommend her. Ana at the front desk was super awesome at multi tasking from the constant phone calls and customers waiting to book their next appointments. She told me about deals going on and answered all my questions. Overall, this place is filled with positive friendly staff that are helpful and patient with you. Their energy is comforting and was a good start to my session from the time I walked in and the time I walked out. The place is clean, relaxing, and the music is soothing. I love the atmosphere and the little relaxing room they have. Thank you everybody at Massage Envy Chandler! I will definitely return and hope to meet again! Thank you Laura for the massage! The pictures look brighter because my phone auto photoshops but it is dimmer and relaxing once you go in the back room."
