"Rick was an awesome scuba instructor. My friend and I were working on a tight schedule and wanted to get certified before a trip, and Rick made sure that we both: 1. Got certified on time and 2. Knew what we were doing so we could be safe I wasn't expecting to keep the required gear you have to buy for the class (masks, fins, snorkel), but his recommendations for masks and goggles were so good that I'm making space for them in my check bag."

"I couldn't have asked for a better Diving experience. I had 3 weeks before going on a dive trip over seas and my Dive Instructor Rick made sure that I was fully prepped and ready to go before then. He spent his time going through each step of the process at my pace so that I didn't feel rushed. He's an excellent teacher and very knowledgeable when it comes to diving. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get their scuba diving certification."

"Do NOT go to Scottsdale Scuba to get scuba certified. The owner has shamelessly scammed many customers to grow his business. He is currently selling a Groupon for $170, discounted from the normal price of $400. However, when I went in to collect my learning materials and schedule my dives, he told me that the Groupon includes so little that after purchasing the learning materials, rental gear and everything else needed the price comes to $470 (apparently this is in the fine print when purchasing the Groupon, I will be more careful in the future). They offer a class that includes everything for $300. So essentially the Groupon is a complete waste of $170. When I asked the owner why he does this, knowing that it will lead to customers losing money, he said "it gets people in the door." The owner tricks people into thinking they're getting a deal, and then when they go in person tells them they did not actually get a deal and instead wasted their money. Avoid Scottsdale scuba and it's shady business practices"

"My husband and I were looking for affordable gear for beginning scuba divers and walked into Rick’s shop. He was super knowledgeable and helpful, demonstrated how the different options worked and was very honest and straightforward. The shop has lots of options for different price points. This will definitely be our gear shop from now on!"
