About the Business
Abbie School is a primary and secondary school located at 5870 East 14th Street in Tucson, Arizona, United States. Our institution is dedicated to providing children with individual academic needs an education that reflects their full potential. We offer a specialized education that is based on innovative and research-proven techniques in a sensory sensitive and accepting environment. Our goal is to help students maximize their potential, build confidence, and be valued for their individuality by drawing on their strengths and interests.
Our campus, which has been in operation for over 60 years, is in need of capital improvements to ensure a safer and more accessible environment for our students. Your support will help us continue to provide a high-quality education for future Abbie Scholars.
At Abbie School, we believe that children with disabilities are full of gifts that are waiting to be cultivated. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Arizona Center for Autism (dba Abbie School) is committed to setting policy, fiscal responsibility, and ongoing governance to empower our Executive Director/Principal to carry out our mission effectively. "My two kids have been at The Abbie School for the last 3 years. They have flourished under the Abbie way of life and I am so great full to all the wonderful staff that work there."
"Since coming to Abbie our son has become successful in academics, drastically improved social behaviors and emotionally more stable and confident. The Abbie School truly teaches to the individual student and their specific needs. We found the Abbie School in December 2014 when our son was diagnosed with a learning processing disorder and Autism. He had always struggled in school with comprehension and ability to keep up learning new concepts. It was recommended to us that we visit the Abbie School to help him. He started in January 2015, and within 3 days we noticed he was much more confident and was making friends. By the end of his two weeks, he grasps concepts he'd never understood before such as long division. When we asked him why, he said "they to my brain better". My husband, son and I recommend the Abbie School to any student having trouble in school whether it be academically, socially, behaviorally or emotionally."
