San Pedro House

"I have lived in the Sierra Vista area for over 25, and as far as I know this is the first time I have ever been to the San Pedro house. The gift shop has a lot of cool things, and the people that work there seem to know a lot of history of the area and we enjoyed talking with them. We took a nice little walk about 2 miles along the river and took some great pictures. Will definitely do this again..."

"This is a Great Birding and hiking area. Lots of trails of various lengths, level. wide with a few benches along the way. Rapiary and grasslands. Visitor Center with bird- centered items. Bird feeders and gigantic cottonwood trees around center. Restrooms. Donations suggested. Dogs on leash only. ( bird refuge afterall)"

"Amazing place to hike. You really get get a variety of damp areas and dry areas, tall green shade trees to shrub brushes, along with the chance of wildlife. Mainly flat tails so it provides a nice contrast to the surrounding hills. Very peaceful."

"This was a random stop for us and I'm glad we did it. There are two humongous, beautiful trees that are photo worthy. The trail is nice, minus the ants. There were pretty butterflies, caterpillars, and other creatures that were fun to watch. There's a picnic table if you want to picnic. It's so green!"

"I hike here almost daily. The loop around the San Pedro house takes no more then an hour and is great for all ages. The trail is wide, flat and well kept so no concern for snakes. There's a beautiful pond off the main path and there's a trail along the river as well. They also have benches for people to sit and rest along the path."
