"Fantastic hour long tour of the Dam by Mike and JR. Only $30 and well worth it! You do need to go in the morning to sign up because tours fill up. There is also an option for a 30min $15 tour. Clean facilities with restrooms. It is under construction, so some areas are closed off. You go through metal detection and purchase tickets right after. While you wait there is a 10min movie and you are free to walk around. $10 for parking in the parking structure. Nice Cafe with good food near parking structure."
"Had a really fun time touring the Hoover dam!! Our tour guide had to be relieved because He was having some mental stressors so, we had to wait for another tour guide to come relieve him. That was awkward and hopefully not common. The tour was otherwise really informative and cool to see! Visitor center is being remodeled so we couldn't see that but, at least we got to do the tour!"
"I'm originally from Yuma, Az, so this tour was amazing to me. It was very cool to see how the whole Grand Canyon System works, not just the Hoover Dam. We did the whole tour, and it was very cool to see the inner workings of the dam. The only thing I would have liked to do would be to be able to get closer to the generators themselves. Our tour guides were great, and we had a really good time."
"The Hoover Dam is one of the most secure fortresses I've ever visited. The history of its construction is very well told and represented in the Visitor Center. The process of moving the crowds through is well oiled making the tight spaces not such a big deal. There is a 10 minute movie, elevator ride 530 feet underground, and short tour of the facilities. We really enjoyed the hands on museum and spent more time there than we expected we would. The enormity of the dam is difficult to comprehend."
"Great place to see a modern miracle. Wonderful place to see a great construction project! I would recommend that you go early or on a weekday. We went the day after Thanksgiving and got there at 10 am and still had to wait for our tour. We went on the more comprehensive and more expensive tour which made us wait longer. The tour inside the dam was very informative, even got to take photos while sticking your hands through a vent. The tour guide was hard to understand but it really didn't take much away from the experience. Go early, on the way out there was a line of cars miles long."
