Reviews
"After living here for a month, the experience has been great. Lian and Oliver were extremely helpful during the move-in process. The location is excellent, and I look forward to living here."
"There is a review that talks about violence from the manager and pest control, but this is definitely not the View at Cascade. The picture is not Carpet found in the community and they do not have a pest problem. Management is very professional, so this review must be from one of the other apartment communities called Cascade and not the View at Cascade. Hopefully the person that made the mistake will read this and take it off."
"The View at Cascade is home.Lian Hughes our manager is always willing and responsive to our needs and requests.Along with Oliver and Rueben. This is our sixth year. Of course there are issues that arise, however if the office is alerted it is taken care of immediately. Being civil and making requests in a polite and timely manner, understanding staff limitations from time to time are part of living in a 'community.' Pillar assigns a budget and some things are not in the budget at the time of an individual request - that is corporate, not the in house management. The building is quiet, well kept and security is not an issue. We have lived in other luxury 'rises' and find Cascade to be very comparable. The residents mostly younger (we are retired) have been warm, helpful and outgoing. I am not clear about the negative post issues, perhaps the challenges are with unrealistic expectations by the writers? We have not found inappropriate attitudes from any of the staff in the past or now, always very respectful and willing. we feel fortunate to retire to a beautiful, well located and friendly community. we are sad to read some of the posts but on the other hand, perhaps you belong somewhere else."
"THE BUILDING Several doors do not open from the inside without hitting the door just right. This is a fire hazard. The hallways nearest amenities and on the floors with the tour floor will smell the best year round. Those that are not located near amenities or on the tour floor may encounter smells of chain-smoking neighbors, cat litter, dirty diapers, and food scraps. In regards to the chain-smoking neighbors, there is nothing the office will do about it because even though this complex is advertised as “luxury”, it is NOT a no smoking property. You'll open your doors and windows for fresh air, only to have your apartment inundated with cigarette smoke. SECURITY The two gates will malfunction. People that should not have access will be able to get into the gates and potentially into the complex. Vehicles have been broken into. When my vehicle was broken into, I went to the office requesting footage. They informed me they do not have cameras on the parking lots or in the hallways. I’m sure the gates not working regularly also contributed to packages being stolen. We had to install a ring camera to add extra security. It's not like the drivers weren’t making it to the door, because they would take a picture, we’d get home from work, and the package would be gone. PETS They do not take care of the side entrances, and people allow their dogs to use the bathroom right outside the doors. This means when you’re walking into the doors, you’re getting a wonderful whiff of urine. They enforce their pet policies for tenants differently. We had an issue with our next door neighbor repeatedly playing loud music, going out drunk, and returning loudly late at night. Our upstairs neighbors get drunk and have loud arguments. I work from home most days and the days that I don’t, our dog goes to camp. When I was working from home, I would crate train her for 5 minutes. I was at work and received an email that my dog was barking and the neighbor complained. I said that’s not possible because she’s at camp. I informed the leasing office that-that neighbor and I have issues, so I’m not surprised that she would be lodging false complaints. I asked if they could provide specific dates and times of when this was happening. They couldn’t do that, stating, “We are just going by what your neighbor has told us”. Our last straw was when the previous manager, Tracy, told us to put a SHOCK COLLAR on our dog. I informed her I would not be putting a shock collar on my dog. SAFETY The stone they have around the pool and on the stairs to the pool is extremely slick when wet. I have slipped on them, as have others. I’m fortunate enough to have caught myself or someone grab my arm before a fall. LEASING AND CORPORATE Tracy Goodhope was the manager when we first moved in. She always seemed bothered by any request as if it wasn’t her job to manage the property. Lian Hughes is the current manager, and has the same inept and lackadaisical attributes as Tracy. I wrote an FDA letter and they responded with they need my doctor to fill out some forms. When looking at the forms, there is a line that states, “I _____ (tenant/patient), request that Dr. ______ immediately release any medical information requested below to the housing facility (owner/agent/manager/employee/LLC member/corporate officer/legal representative) listed below.” So, essentially, they’re demanding access to HIPAA documentation. My doctors did not feel comfortable signing something with such verbiage. I provided this letter more than 60 days before our lease ends, however, they are refusing to let us out of the lease. Also, management and Pillars lawyers will do everything in their power to enable scammers and criminals to live in the residence and do nothing to help you when you fall victim to their antics. “Luxury” is an overstatement. Live here at your own risk. Sincerely, A Future Former Tenant"
"I don't live here BUT I live at the sister complex down the street. However, I got a tour from my friend that lives here and I love this place. First of all it is very clean. That tells a lot about a complex right off the bat. Moving on - the design and amenities offered are truly a luxury. The views are one of a kind in the Scottsdale area."
