"Very nice remodel units. Staff is very friendly recently added a gym, four pools and it’s located on a very nice area of town."
"Final edit: I went to the office to check the status of the work orders, maintenance came by less than 2 hours later and completed the order! Another update: hot water has been non-functional for a week, they won't return my calls, and I have not heard any news by email. Update. The weather is in the mid 80s, and Management have decided it's time to shut down the cooling! Unbelievable... You would think the people making these decisions have never lived in Arizona, and have zero understanding.. THIS IS THE DESERT! The office staff are pretty nice, but... They refuse to communicate whenever they close a pool, which seems to be tied to their whims, not anything concrete. The hot water was busted for almost an entire day, and they never communicated anything about it. They don't seem to care that a simple email with "The pool is closed because_____ " or hot water is down would really help people out. To find out if the pool is open, I have to walk myself from the second floor down to the pool and see if the gate is open. This is very painful for someone on disability and totally unnecessary.. There never seems to be a week go by without all of the water being shut off for multiple hours in the middle of the day, which is a problem because the built-in cooling uses a chilled water design, which stops working when the water is off. You cannot have the AC just blow fan. If it's blowing, it's either hot or cold, depending on which season it is. My thermostat broke several months ago, but they can't fix it, for some reason. I know I could just walk into Home Depot and buy a cheap thermostat, but it shouldn't be my responsibility. If I can buy a new thermostat, they should be able to as well. Update: I was told by the office yesterday that the pool would be open today. Guess what! Pool is locked with no word from the office as to why, or when it's really going to be opened. If you think having a pool in the Arizona desert would be nice for an apartment, rent elsewhere. Avani North Tucson doesn't care."
"Honest opinion for a first apartment this was a terrible decision. When it came to first moving in they were making constant excuses as to why i can’t see my unit BEFORE i move it. I was not able to see my unit until the day i moved in and picked my keys up. Walking into the apartment our oven door was hanging off even though “maintenance was working on the unit” all day and that’s why we couldn’t see it. We told maintenance and they replaced it as we were moving our things in. Already , being in the apartment for not even an hour , we saw 5-6 roaches. The apartments said they would come spray , and they did. That did nothing. We got rid of the roaches ourselves just by bombing constantly and keeping everything clean. The apartment is constantly turning off the water due to piping problems. We understand apartments have problems especially with piping but it’s happening every other day and whenever the water is turned off it affects the A/C system. In the middle of the summer they were having A/C problems in my building and for 3 days it was 100 degrees in my unit. I was constantly calling and going down to the office just to be told every time “it’s being worked on” one of the managers even asked me if i saw the men working on it outside ( no one was out there ). After it being 100 degrees in my apartment for 3 days , i called and asked for their corporate number , minutes after our phone call my boyfriend who was at home said the A/C had been turned on. Months go by and it comes down to our last 3 weeks living in the unit and i heard scratching in the walls and decided to buy mouse traps out of curiosity. Within an hour of placing the traps we caught 2 mice in two different traps. We noticed the office (even though we’re moving) and the gentleman in the office told me “well it’s a good thing you’re moving soon” and that they can’t tell me how long it will take for an exterminator to come out to the complex. For the next 3 weeks in the apartment we caught 5 mice. Please stay away from the apartments!"
"I Had a bathroom sink issue and notified Leslie. The same afternoon I had a new sink and My bathroom was completely clean. The work was impressive and extremely quick. I have lived at the location for over 12 years and this is by far the best service and staff I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Leslie, Lydia, Phil and Zulma have been a great improvement to My living at the location."
"Please avoid this place if you can, the rent prices they are charging are not worth it. They have only done cosmetic updates. The water is consistently getting shut off, the only cooling option is swamp cooler or you have to purchase one for inside your home that can not use window access, the apartment complex is not very ADA friendly with all the gates that require a key card so you may need to have someone with you. There is no security, the amount of transient individuals who run through the back gate and walk around the complex is astronomical they also hop in the dumpsters too. Leslie and Lydia act like the mean girls from high school and run the place as "do as I say not as I do" and they do not follow the lease and will apply late fees when they feel like it."
