Reviews of University Garden Apartment by Chamberlain + Associates
"Oh, where do I even begin with University Garden Apartments? This place is an absolute disaster from top to bottom, and I genuinely can't believe I've wasted a year of my life living here. The pool, if you can even call it that, is a complete joke. It's so full of chlorine that your eyes start burning the second you get near it. It's clear that they've just dumped a ton of chemicals in there to avoid actually having to clean and maintain it. Speaking of maintenance, don’t even get me started. I’ve had a broken faucet in my bathroom for months, and despite multiple maintenance requests, nobody has shown up to fix it. It's like they just don't care about the state of their apartments or the well-being of their tenants. And now, the management. I've never dealt with a more unprofessional, uncaring group of people in my life. For two straight weeks, there was nobody in the office. Calls went unanswered, emails were ignored, and it was like they had all just disappeared. And then there's the rent. For what they're charging, you would expect a luxury apartment with top-notch amenities and responsive management. But no, what you get is a bug-infested dump with a toxic pool and a ghost town for an office. The bugs, this place is infested with roaches, larvae, and who knows what else. It's like living in a horror movie, and no matter how much you clean, they just keep coming back. I've contacted the management more times than I can count, and their response is always the same: indifference and inaction. In summary, stay as far away from University Garden Apartments as you possibly can. This place is a nightmare, and it's not worth a single penny of the outrageous rent they're charging. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to live. Trust me, you'll thank me later."
"My experience at University Garden Apartments has been nothing short of a living nightmare, and I implore anyone considering this complex to run far, far away. The combination of egregious management, exorbitant rent, and absolutely deplorable living conditions has left me counting down the days until my lease is finally up. Let's start with the insect infestation. The apartment is crawling with bugs, roaches, and larvae, creating an unlivable and disgusting environment. It seems like a new species takes up residence in my apartment each week, and the management could not care less. I have lost count of how many times I have reached out to them for assistance, only to be met with complete and utter indifference. The pool, which they so proudly advertise, is an absolute joke. The chlorine levels are so high that it's impossible to take a dip without your eyes burning for hours afterwards. Clearly, this is their lazy solution to actually maintaining the pool area, and it's just another example of their complete disregard for tenant well-being. And let’s not forget about the nonexistent maintenance. I have submitted numerous maintenance requests, only to be completely ignored. It seems as though the maintenance team is a mythical entity, never to be seen or heard from. The few times they have actually shown up, the “repairs” they've made have been so subpar that I was left wondering if they had done anything at all. Now, onto the management — or should I say, the worst management team I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They are unresponsive, unprofessional, and completely inept at their jobs. For two whole weeks, there was not a single soul to be found in the office. Calls went unanswered, emails were ignored, and it was as if they had completely abandoned the complex. And the cherry on top of this disastrous experience? The rent. Despite providing absolutely no value, no customer service, and no basic living standards, University Garden Apartments has the audacity to charge an exorbitant amount of rent. It is daylight robbery, and they are taking advantage of tenants at every turn. In conclusion, University Garden Apartments is a blight on the housing industry. They represent everything that is wrong with apartment living, and they have no business being in operation. Save yourself the time, money, and stress, and look elsewhere for housing. This place is not worth the nightmare it will inevitably become."
"LISA AND CAROLINA AND THE MAINTENANCE PEOPLE WILL MAKE YOUR STAY HERE A LIVING NIGHTMARE. These are the worst possible apartments near the Campus. just moved here and WOW this is the worst place possible. They gave me a key a couple weeks ago saying they will "lock the gates" and they never have. f you want an apt. go across the street to campus crossings not here. This is the worst management with this orange eyebrowed lady that has no respect for anyone, and i bet she would watch General hospital all day and not take any calls in her little office if she could she would . Her only words are "Okay" and she will quite literally sit on her chair all day doing nothing, so dont be afraid to bother her, SHE DOES NOTHING, even if you ask her to, she will still do nothing. SAME WITH CAROLINA, the "manager" who cant even manage jack cr-ap. Carolina is honestly the most useless lady here. SHE DEFINITLEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU IF YOU ASK HER. "Hey fix this" they reply okay and then nothing happens. I just saw them pour GALLONS AND GALLONS of chlorine into the pool when it was green and they didnt even leave a note to say "stay out" I cant wait to call the HEALTH DEPARTMENT to call for a complaint for this horrid place and pool. Lisa and Carolina love to blame the tenants themsleves, and never put any blame on their own selves. They deal with teens and college kids, but trust me, they are the most unprofessional group of people you will see here in apartment management here in AZ. The pool will turn green every 4 weeks, and the maintenance guy only speaks one language and is A CREEP, dont go near him. stay away from This place. DO NOT RENT HERE OR LEASE OR ANYTHING, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY, !!!!!!!! GO TO CAMPUS CROSSINGS.!!!!!! rent here though if you love roaches. and if you want to wake up to the sight of roaches scurrying away from you whenever you turn any light on, than this is the perfect roach infested place for you. Wear shoes if you plan on living here and wear long pants! but be aware of your legs. THESE ROACHES CRWALL. I MEAN CRAWL ON YOUR LEGS AND UP YOUR BODY THIS PLACE IS HELL !!!!!!! -Li"
"The only good thing about the apartments is that they *used* to be affordable for being so near campus. Given the price, I didn't complain much about the multiple problems but seeing as though rent is increasing by 50%, new tenants should be informed of what they are getting into. When we moved in our AC didn't work- during the summer- and there is no emergency number for weekends, so if you have any issues on the weekend, good luck! Since living here I had multiple packages stolen, my tires stolen off my bike, and when I get home at night I'm greeted by homeless people hanging out in the "grilling" area (which was actually used as a storage for trashed appliances for half my time there). I also get to listen to the homeless people who sleep outside my window. These are both accessed through gates that remain open all day and night- even though we were given keys and promised locked gates for a safer complex which never happened-that was last May. The manager does not have great service skills for managing an apartment complex, with little communication and poor communication when she does communicate. At the beginning of this school year the water heater for an entire building went out and I didn't know it was being worked on until I called her and she said "yeah, we know. we're working on it." When we first moved in, there was paint on the carpets and new furniture and you could tell they only painted over dirty walls. My apartment was definitely not deep cleaned before I moved in, as there was some type of brown substance that was stained running down the walls- especially the bathroom walls- and the fridge which all took hours to scrub off. Our pool was also out of commission for half the time we've lived here. Also, if something does need fixing in your apartment, make sure to call or go in person because their voicemail box is always full and apparently they never receive or look at the work orders through the work order form they provide."
