"I have lived at the Enclave for a little over 3 months now and I will not be renewing my lease. There are major health and safety concerns regarding the chilling/heating system of this property. Due to this dated system, the heat and AC cannot be turned on at the same time. On November 29th, 2023 the air conditioning was turned off and the residents could only use heat since then. It is currently March 5, 2024 and we still do not have acess to air conditioning. I have never turned the heat on since the AC was turned off and temperatures have reached up to 88 degrees in my apartment. This after I kept my window open with a box fan blowing air in, ceiling fan on, and multiple other box fans circulating air. I had maintenance check my thermostat in case there was a malfunction causing the heat to be on. There was nothing wrong and I was told the apartment is just 'too well insulated' and I was likely getting heat from surrounding units. I told the leasing office about my issue and I was told to "just open a window". Due to the climbing temperatures I had to buy an AC unit which was over $300. And the leasing agent told me that I can't get reimbursed because "technically nothing is broken, the system is just old". This cannot continue. If there is truely nothing to be done about the system, the complex should be providing/reimbursing air conditioning units that the residents are buying. Other than this major safety issue, the property is fine for the price you are paying. The fixed price for utilities is nice for budgeting, but definitely overpriced considering you can go months without A/C. I haven't had too many issues regarding maintenance requests and the team here is good about getting anything fixed in an efficient timeframe. Grounds are kept very clean. Rennovations are definitely cheap and the paint/linoleum coverings started chipping off within my first two weeks of living here, but it honestly hasn't been bad. The neighborhood is quiet, and there is a big park next door that is a great greenspace. There are homeless people who wander around sometimes, but it really isn't too big of an issue. Just know that if you leave something outside overnight, you may get it stolen (it has already happened to me). In case you are curious, it costs $1.50/wash cycle and $1.75/dry cycle at the time of my writing this review. The washroom is kept clean enough. If it wasn't for the air conditioning issue, I would give this property 3 or maybe even 4 stars. But the rental company has serious work to do for addressing tenant safety. I will include pictures of both my personal thermometer and the unit's thermostat give just a taste of how hot my unit has been over the past few months. Please note that the top number on my personal thermometer is the outside temperature, the bottom number is the unit temp."
"When I moved into The Enclave, they were still owned by Weidner. The process of moving it was easy, and Wendi was very kind. It’s an older complex, so of course things are old as well. My biggest complaint is the water being shut off randomly. But, Wendi always sent an email apologizing and would give us an estimated time it would be back on after maintenance. We enjoyed living here under Weidner. Since The Enclave has been purchased by Wester Wealth, We have had nothing but problems. They purchased back in March, and told us they were fixing the pool. That never happened. We get another notice saying it was going to happen Memorial Day weekend… who does that? And then finally they just did the pool maintenance about a month ago- but have kept the pool closed since. This is Arizona- pool weather can last well into November (especially with how warm it has been). They constantly say they “are doing work” in a section of the community, and then it never gets done within the timeframe. Happened with the pool, happened with the laundry room, and happened recently with them changing outlets in the units. It’s just ridiculous. It’s not that hard to send out an email with an update or extension notice if needed. The kicker is- since Western Wealth has taken over, both our cars have experienced damage while parked in our lot. My tire was slashed and my license plate was stolen, we had a car broken into, and that same cars has tank was drilled into and drained (a $2500 fix). That same week I had 1 package and my groceries stolen off my front porch all within 30 minutes of each other. When I tried to contact the office about this, and how I would like to break my lease because I no longer feel safe, it took over a month for them to respond. And they only responded after my 3rd email. Then when I had more questions, no answer again. Tried to call the office, and no answer. No answer ever to be honest. Finally when I went to the office when I had a random Friday off (because gosh forbid they are open when most people at home at least 1 day a week), the lady in the office told me she never received an email. I also received a notice that my plants on my front porch is a violation of community guidelines… however I never received any community guidelines from Western Wealth. And I’ve lived here almost a year and they have NEVER been a problem. Thank goodness someone was in the office that day, and said “they just got notice happy.” How is that appropriate? Lastly, today our water is off. No email, no written notice, nothing. What if I had a child and needed water for them?? Tried calling the office of course, but nobody answered like always. Gives me the feeling that management is pretty incompetent. I am sick of the lack of communication, respect, and empathy from Western Wealth. They have turned a nice place to live into a bad one. We will not be renewing our lease, and we don’t recommend anyone living here unless you want a constant headache."
"Rating so far: EXCELLENT! Since I'm still adjusting to my new living experiences at The Enclave Apartments, now I'm starting to love living here. This is because I have a couple of friends (1 who went to Palo Verde High School and 1 who used to work at Fry's) who live there as well. I made few new friends recently by chatting along with them in-person. I took my talents of leadership with me when I moved out of my old place (2.75 miles from here, route-wise) back in 2/27/22, and I've been keeping my talents with me (as of today). Keeping sidewalks clean & beautiful with my broom and/or push-broom has been my talent since 2013, and I kept it with me while I'm still living here! Maintenance personnel are cool and friendly. I have no problems with them whatsoever. The sweetest manager of all time is Wendi Hiither! She deserves more hearts than ever!"
"After the Enclave was purchased by Western Wealth, all of the incentives for living in an apartment community have been removed. For example, tenants are now being charged for "uncovered" parking so that the new owners can have the lot repaved. Utilities (gas, water, electric) used to be free and included with the rental but no longer are included. They advertise a "resort style pool" when it is actually a dinky standard size pool for a smaller complex. I do not like the way Western Wealth runs their shady and misleading advertisement nor do I like the fact that they are raising people's rent $100-$300 at a time. After 35+ years of living at the Enclave; I am leaving and will not be renewing my lease!"
"Best to not clean the apartment when your lease expires because you will not get your deposit back. You worked hard at cleaning the apartment when you leave then you get no deposit returned. It happened to another resident who lived at this place, too. I asked Wendi to do a walk thru with me and she said "it was not necessary, you will get your full deposit back". Not true. They have no hot water either."
