"Take it from a (former) long time tenant this is probably one to avoid. I’ve lived here for two and a half years and people considering living here should be aware that the management company that runs this apartment employs some fairly shady practices regarding rent. When I first moved in I was promised a very compelling introductory rate, however when I checked on their web portal I found that I was in fact being charged a higher rate. After calling management I was able to get the promised rate. However, the very next month they charged the higher amount again. This happened a total of three times, and the last time I received a text message threatening me with eviction as they falsely believed I owed them money. I can understand how this may have been an honest mistake but it was still incredibly unprofessional, and unpleasant, and is something new tenants should look out for. At the end of my first lease they proposed a rent hike of ~$200. However when I was uninterested in signing at the new rate they quickly dropped this in favor of a more modest rent increase. Recently they proposed another $200 hike, and when I countered with a lower proposed increase, I was flatly informed that they were not interested in negotiating and my lease would be canceled at the end of the next month. The apartments themselves are ok. Common areas are kept pretty clean and even though the renovations seem to have been done pretty cheaply, the apartments do look fairly nice (although I’ve heard the first story ones are less attractive). Although this wasn’t too frequent, a few times I had cockroaches crawl out of my shower drain. Also, for whatever reason, when I ran my dishwasher the whole apartment smelled awful. Armory Park is a very nice neighborhood. When it comes down to it, however, there are much nicer places to live in this neighborhood for lower prices, perhaps even ones in which management keeps their promises."
"I have lived here for a year and loved it! Great location being a 10 minute walk to downtown and 12 minute drive to campus. Complex was quiet and the neighbors are friendly. I appreciated the coded gate which provided extra security. All in all I think the Old Town apartments are a great place to live!"
"Great place to live near downtown, and the apartments are so nice inside!"
"I live in a second story flat. From what I have heard they are much nicer than those on the first story, wooden ceilings and no bug problems. However the apartments under mine have had some issue. The complex is safe, air quality decent, and community friendly."
