"Took my GRE here and it was an absolutely horrible experience. The staff had timers going off every 10 minutes or so to remind them to walk around and check on the testers (heard it every time). The staff were talking loudly as well. A glass window separates them from the testers, and it is NOT sound-proof. This is an important and expensive test to take and for me it was a waste of a try."
"I could hear the kids choir playing the entire time I was testing, and the headphones they give you are really uncomfortable so I couldn't use them to block out the noise. Also before my test, when they called my name another test taker went back and none of the staff verified that they had the correct person. They didn't check if the last name was the same and when they compared this person to MY ID photo I heard them say "wow you look different" but they still let her through. It wasn't until she said that her test was the wrong one that they realized they had the wrong person"
"The other negative reviews made me nervous to test here, but I had zero issues with my experience. The staff was very polite and helpful. I received a reminder phone call the day before and was able to ask questions ahead of time. There were no delays outside of the expected checking in and out with the proctor when getting in and out during breaks. I was even able to start my exam 30-45 minutes early since I arrived ahead of time and they got me situated. Oh, and the noise was nothing. I didn’t have to use ear plugs or head phones at all during my 4 hour exam. And yes I took my exam on a Saturday. Occasionally I could hear that there were people on the other side of the wall, but it wasn’t like there was some full on theater production next door like I was thinking there would be from the other reviews. Don’t let the reviews scare you away. Take your test here, it’ll be fine."
"Took USMLE Step 2 (a 9-hour exam) here on a Friday and it was FINE, like TOTALLY OKAY. I was super stressed by all the negative reviews about the neighboring kids' music school, especially because I need pindrop silence when testing. I was even considering driving all the way to Tucson to avoid this dilemma. Turns out this testing center was awesome - my regular foam earplugs (Flents brand) + Prometric earmuffs on top (provided by testing center) were more than enough and I didn't hear any sound at all except my own heartbeat. I experienced zero disturbances at this center. If you're stressed about sound, just practice studying with earplugs at home. The ladies working at the center were crazy nice and super efficient with getting people in and out during breaks. Yes, during breaks there were little kids sitting in the main area waiting for their piano lessons with light chatter, and yes there is only 1 bathroom - but overall this wasn't a huge issue. The desks in the room are connected but have private dividers with plenty of space so there's privacy. I didn't get distracted at all by sound or ppl moving in and out. Overall, this testing center was 10/10 and honestly way better than any of the 3 Prometric centers I've been to in CA. You'll probably be okay."
"I had an awful experience. The center is located within a Sylvan learning center with children learning to play the piano which was an horrible experience while trying to concentrate for an exam. The ear plugs and headphones only helped slightly. The staff are older, very slow and unfriendly. Eventhough no other person was in the breakroom, I had to go outside to study on my breaks which was allowed per my test. As I was told it "is the center's policy" to not allow any study materials. If you need to concentrate in noise-free environment or have a timed exam, this is not the place for you. I hope this helps others not make the same mistake I did by testing here."
