"If it matters, this review is from the perspective of another surgeon. I found myself very broken earlier this year. A mountain bike accident left me with a broken right elbow, a broken rib, and a ruptured triceps. Fortunately, the breaks were minor enough that no surgical attention was required. The triceps, however, was a different story. Surgery. I like to think of myself as an athlete because my passion outside of family and work is sports: mountain biking, punishing hikes, trail runs, etc. This injury made me an official mountain biker after 22 years of injury-free riding. When looking for a surgeon, it was important to me to find someone who listens to and understands my desires and idiotic ideas after recovery; to pick up my kid, to ride hard again, and to be able to perform surgery. While some surgeons can be very dry, I wanted to find someone with compassion, a sense of humor, and again understanding. I found all of these qualities, and more, in Dr Hustedt. I have been on the other end of the operating table thousands of times, but this was the first time I was the patient on the table. Throughout the entire surgical process, Dr Hustedt ensured my comfort, answered questions, and generally cared about my recovery. I do not believe any of my treatment was any different because I’m a surgeon. It is easy to see that Dr Hustedt treats all his patients with the same compassion and care. I have recommended Dr Hustedt to many of my patients and friends, and it is without reservation that I would recommend him to you if you’ve managed to survive reading this review."
