"I began seeing Dr. Thakkar 4 years ago for lower back pain. He took a deliberate and methodical approach towards relief which involved massage therapy, acupuncture, physical therapy, steroid injections and radio frequency ablation before reaching the conclusion that the only remaining option was a successful L5-S1 lumbar fusion in 2020, followed by a spinal cord stimulator implant in 2023. The combination of these two procedures has resulted in a pain-free life for me, allowing me to resume most of the physical activities I enjoy, such as cycling, weight lifting, pickleball and running (although limited), and, perhaps, the most important benefit of being able to sleep longer. I very much appreciated how he made me part of his team with clear communications of where we were, and what lay ahead, and together we explored and exhausted all options of treatment before the only remaining option was surgery. While this process took time, it was the right one to follow rather than jumping right to surgery."
