"I have been going to GCFM for years, seeing several of the PA’s and Dr. McCarthy. I have had a good experience with all of them, particularly Kristy Vanbeek. She takes time to connect, listen and express concern for issues that could be easily overlooked. She truly cares and has my best interest in mind. The staff are friendly and I love that I can get my labs done on site."
"This the worst office. We have gone there for many years and they were fine until recently. Telling young women who are not out of shape to lose weight, making them cry in the office and not listening. This was coming from a female provider!"
"The front staff was very helpful and polite. Taken to the back by the energetic and kind hearted MA’s rooming me was good, They were thoroughly going through my chart, as they should. Once seeing the provider they went through all my issues/needs. Recommend Grand Canyon Family Medicine."
"I was a new patient over the summer and had the absolute worst experience with the front office staff. They were rude and extremely unprofessional. I saw the PA Annie Hart, and she was great. So I decided it must have been a bad day for the front office and didn’t think more about it. A few weeks later I had to go back for lab results and it was the exact same experience. These women apparently hate their jobs to the point of making patients dread coming to their appointments. Now let’s fast forward to last week. I made an appointment I had to cancel. I called in this morning and the lady on the phone, again, was intolerable. She explained the no show fee, after I explained I left an after hour voicemail. She rudely placed me on hold and when she came back, said “whatever we will see you later” Ok. I cancelled my appointment. And now need to find a new provider. I don’t come to my appointments free of charge. I pay my co pay and Anthem pays the rest. I don’t understand. When you’re sick the last thing you need is to be treated poorly by the people who are supposed to be making you feel better. Be better Grand Canyon Family Medicine."
"I missed two visit as I had a family emergency in Colorado! I rescheduled and on my visit, the front desk person called the manager to talk to me about missing the appointment! I apologize for missing the appointment and explained it was due to a family emergency. He told he didn’t care and would wave it this time. I would have just paid it as I missed it. He was very rude and so was the front desk person! I wasn’t even asking them to waive the payment, and their demeanor from the start was very abrasive. I’m sure they deal with negative customers, but I wasn’t one of them and didn’t need to be treated in that manner. Then as I was waiting I could hear someone on the phone loudly arguing with someone on the phone, and everybody in the waiting room, could hear the conversation! Not a friendly environment. It’s obvious the office manager is allowing this type of culture. And failing to do his job properly. Then they took me back 30 min late, kind of ironic! No reason for the front office and the managerial staff to be hostile towards patients. They’re just making their life worse by not knowing how to deal with patients. The doctor and medical staff were awesome."
