"MomDoc is all about money to the detriment of patients. Stay away! I was in the ER recently for severe menstrual bleeding. It was bad enough they recommended a blood transfusion. The ER never found a reason for the bleeding and insisted I schedule with Dr Faro within 3 days of release. She's an attentive wonderful doctor... but I don't think she had any idea what horrible trouble MomDoc is! I immediately tried to make an appointment Monday morning with Dr Faro. I told them what Dr Faro had messaged the ER and they would not message her, nor try to have me seen sooner. They don't have a waiting list for appointments... "call back and hope someone cancelled." Nearly a week after I was supposed to follow up, I finally met with Dr. Faro. Dr. Faro advised I have a biopsy of my uterine lining to rule out cancer and other problems. Then she spoke with me on the phone a week later for less than 10 minutes to give me the results. A few days later, I had them draw blood to check my cbc. Then I received the bill... $1580. $500 for initial visit, $400 to take the biopsy, $213 for "special equipment", $50 for a pregnancy test I didn't consent to, and $406 to talk to me on the phone for a "follow up visit". I was appalled. I had no idea an office could charge this much for these services outside of a hospital! I then received a message that the doctor needed me to make an appointment urgently to discuss bloodwork. After some finagling with Labcorp, I received my results. They aren't pretty after all that blood loss... I messaged the office and asked that the doctor send me a message back or simply call in a script. After all day of back and forth, texting the front desk and them repeatedly trying to get me to see another doctor, or practitioner, or another doctor again... they said Dr. Faro would message me. That was 10 days ago... the doctor still hasn't messaged. A week ago, Momdoc sent me another message saying my results were in and I needed to "urgently make an appointment". I found another office... wonderful doctor who put off rushing to a hospital delivery in order to do a quick ultrasound on me. Nurse was way more knowledgeable than Momdoc's. Office was just as pretty, scheduling was way more helpful. Doctor every bit as caring and knowledgeable as Dr. Faro. Which, BTW, the entire visit with ultrasound cost $225 as a new patient. The thing that irked me most was how Momdoc holds results hostage, never allows you to message or speak to the doctor without scheduling a billable appointment. Their doctors may be top notch. But they charge for things that other offices just include (like giving test results or sending the doctor a message) or charge a nominal fee (like the $600+ to take a biopsy not including the lab fee). And their prices are Significantly higher the highest rates for Arizona. MomDoc as a business only cares about collecting money. Steer clear."
"Went there in October due to having a miscarriage and it was the fastest place I could get into due to being new to the area. Long story short, every time I received a bill from them, the bill increased a few hundred dollars. Pretty soon I stopped getting statements and was only sent text messages about what I owed. I had been making monthly payments and not one statement reflected any payments that I had made."
"I’m in so much debt because they didn’t do what I asked and then proceeded to process tests. I asked them to run my insurance before my initial appointment to make sure I was in network. They did not. My insurance did not approve the visit or the tests ran and now I, a disabled persons on AHCCCS is now having bills sent to collections. I only made $1100 last month and $1200 by end of this month. I asked over an over well before my appointment and they told me everything was set and good to go. It was not. On top of that I didn’t enjoy my visit. I don’t remember my doctors name but she made me uncomfortable and I didn’t really feel like she was listening to me. And I thought this was because I wasn’t explaining things in clinical terms but after my new Gynecologist Nakkia Boyd I now know that she just wasn’t really interested. I am a celibate woman with vaginal pain and the thought of this woman doing a vaginal ultrasound made me feel so overwhelmed and anxious. I wanted her nowhere near me. I am not saying there was no good in my visit but honestly the bad outweighs so much that I can’t remember anything I enjoyed about it. I don’t remember anything that may make me reconsider, I just wanted away from their after my appointment. I called to cancel my next appointment and they seem to leave 30 mins before closing which was the only time I had to call. So I left several voicemails. And they still didn’t cancel the appointment. It is what it is. I wasn’t happy there. Found someone through my beautiful PCP who is more gentle, understanding, kind, and patient for my liking. Even my new Gynecologist office told me when I scheduled my ultrasound “Your insurance covers this procedure 100% so no worries on your part.” So I know for a FACT they can run my insurance or do a pre check and MomDoc lied to me twice when I asked them to do the same."
"I called in for a first-time visit quote as a non-insured patient. I was quoted for a visit and an ultrasound. As soon as I received both quotes, I asked to make an appointment and the lady said her first availability was the next day. I live about 25 minutes away and made the drive. Once I went inside the office, I was immediately confused because there is no front desk to check in or signage to explain what you should do. I had to snoop around the office until I found somebody who helped me. After I signed my paperwork and did my urine sample, I was called in for my appointment. Before I went back to officially see the doctor, I asked for verification on the price quotes for that days visit. The lady informed me no ultrasound tech was in for the day. I ended up leaving very upset because why are you quoting people for ultrasounds over the phone and scheduling them an appointment when there is no ultrasound tech present? Apparently they don’t even do ultrasounds on your first visit, which is unheard of as any other office I called offered to do both same day first visit. Very disappointed at the lack of communication from the women who work here. If you hear that somebody is a first time patient, explain office procedure over the phone and don’t give quotes for things you’re not able to do."
